RFK Jr and Marco Rubio's food feud gets funnier as Kennedy fires back with Pop-Tarts
WASHINGTON, DC: A lighthearted food feud between Health Secretary Robert F Kennedy Jr and Secretary of State Marco Rubio has produced another amusing exchange.
Kennedy’s strict eating habits, particularly his fondness for sauerkraut, recently became the subject of a joke by Rubio, who made it clear that he has no intention of adopting Kennedy’s eating routine.
Kennedy was asked about Rubio's comments while speaking to Fox News on Saturday, August 29, and had a pointed response.

RFK Jr fires 'Pop-Tarts' jibe at Marco Rubio
Kennedy was asked whether he had brought his cooler of sauerkraut with him that day, a reference to Rubio’s recent complaint about traveling with the fermented cabbage.
“No, I didn't bring it with me today, but he does carry Pop-Tarts everywhere he goes,” Kennedy replied.
Rubio had discussed Kennedy’s eating habits during an episode of Katie Miller’s podcast, where he appeared with his wife, Jeanette Dousdebes Rubio.
Rubio initially said he supported the goal behind Kennedy’s Make America Healthy Again (MAHA) campaign.
“I’m in favor of MAHA, like, I think people should be healthy,” Rubio said. His wife quickly challenged that statement.

“No, he is not,” Jeanette Dousdebes Rubio interrupted. Rubio then went on to defend his own eating habits, calling Pop-Tarts "one of the great American innovations."
Rubio even explained his objection to Kennedy’s particular dietary routine.
“I’m not going to travel the world with a cooler full of sauerkraut,” he said.
Notably, this is not the first time RFK Jr has responded to Rubio's remarks.
Earlier, he poked fun at Rubio’s 'Pop-Tarts' obsession by sharing an Aladdin-style image of Rubio flying through the air on a giant Pop-Tart.

MAHA diet has Washington ties
Kennedy’s diet has become one of the more recognizable aspects of his public image.
He has promoted eating meat and fermented foods, with sauerkraut regularly featuring in his meals.
The latest exchange also comes as Kennedy’s health campaign continues to draw attention to eating habits among people around the Trump administration.
A dietary routine associated with physician Sean O’Mara has attracted several Trump administration figures, with Vice President JD Vance, Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick, and Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy among those reported to have adopted parts of it.
The regimen emphasizes foods including grass-fed steak and fermented vegetables such as kimchi while cutting back on alcohol and sugary foods.
Kennedy has made healthier eating a central part of his MAHA agenda, but his personal food habits have given the campaign an unexpected source of humor.
