WASHINGTON, DC: Robert F Kennedy Jr and Cheryl Hines’ relationship is going through a rough patch and the politician is reportedly trying not to worsen the situation.
The actress is thinking of divorcing her husband, whom she married in 2014, over his alleged affair with journalist Olivia Nuzzi. However, Kennedy Jr is “begging” her not to do so, as reported by People.

A source shared details about the tumultuous waters the Robert F Kennedy Jr and Cheryl Hines marriage is wading through.
“She's been very angry about it. She has a great support team to vent to though. She's been talking about filing for divorce, but he's begging her not to file.”
“But how many times can you forgive a partner that's dishonest and goes behind your back? It's just ridiculous behavior from a grown, married man,” they stated.
The divorce speculation started after Hines and the 70-year-old politician were seen together in Malibu, California, on October 5, as per Page Six.
The couple were spotted inside a car as they drove toward a Starbucks. A tipster revealed that the duo “spent time in Los Angeles together this week,” but “things seem pretty tense” between them.
They added that the 59-year-old actress and director was seen “without her wedding ring”.

Trouble in Robert F Kennedy Jr and Chery Hines’ paradise reportedly began after his alleged “relationship” with Olivia Nuzzi was disclosed by New York magazine in September.
The 31-year-old political reporter admitted that she “engaged in a personal relationship with a former subject relevant to the 2024 campaign" while she was reporting on the campaign, a violation of the magazine’s standards around conflicts of interest and disclosures.”
“She is currently on leave from the magazine, and the magazine is conducting a more thorough third-party review. We regret this violation of our readers’ trust,” the magazine shared in a statement.
It also mentioned, “Had the magazine been aware of this relationship, she would not have continued to cover the presidential campaign. An internal review of her published work has found no inaccuracies nor evidence of bias.”

Besides, Olivia Nuzzi also issued a statement, noting, as per People, “The relationship was never physical but should have been disclosed to prevent the appearance of a conflict.”
“I deeply regret not doing so immediately and apologize to those I’ve disappointed, especially my colleagues at New York,” she added.
But at the time, Kennedy Jr’s representative claimed, “Mr Kennedy only met Olivia Nuzzi once in his life for an interview she requested, which yielded a hit piece.”
