Cheryl Hines may divorce RFK Jr but it has nothing to do with alleged Olivia Nuzzi affair, say sources
WASHINGTON, DC: Actress Cheryl Hines is reportedly mulling divorce from former independent presidential candidate Robert F Kennedy Jr in the near future, but not for the reason that most people think.
RFK Jr was recently revealed to have engaged in a scandalous digital affair with journalist Olivia Nuzzi.
However, it was his decision to suspend his presidential campaign and endorse GOP nominee Donald Trump for the White House that may have been the last nail in the coffin with regard to his marriage.
Why Cheryl Hines may consider a split from RFK Jr?
RFK Jr comes from a family that is considered Democratic royalty. An insider revealed to Page Six that for lifelong Democrat Hines, his embracing the MAGA approach was more upsetting than the allegations of him cheating on her.
“The guy is a serial philanderer and she knew that coming in,” the source reportedly told the publication.
"She knew she was getting in with a Kennedy, who are known for being infamous womanizers, but she never signed up to be a member of Trump World!” they added.
Kennedy Jr had opened up on Hines objecting to his support of Trump during an interview with TMZ in August.
"This is a really difficult issue for Cheryl,” he said. “This is the opposite of what she would want to do. She went along with it because she loves me and she wanted to be supportive of me, but it was not something that she ever encouraged. I would say, her trepidation about this and her discomfort with this were the dominant feelings."
Another source further revealed that some supporters of Trump were hoping for Kennedy Jr to split up with Hines, as they hated the latter's political stance.
Conservatives troll Cheryl Hines over report she is considering divorcing RFK Jr over politics
Netizens, especially conservatives, reacting to the news on the Page Six website were critical of Cheryl Hines for mulling divorce over politics. The following examples demonstrate their opinion.
"This is nonsensical. Divorce because of a political party?" asked a person.
"I don't care that he cheats. It's just a marriage after all. But I draw the line at supporting Trump! Classic leftist logic," slammed another.
"Now Divorce papers need to add TDS to Reasons for filing," quipped a third.
"When political allegiance is more important than marital fidelity your morals are bankrupt and need to be liquidated," jibed a fourth.
"In other words, it was okay to be married to him because she could impress certain people, and now she can't. How transactional," accused a fifth.
