LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Megyn Kelly has questioned the impact of Robert De Niro's recent outburst on President Joe Biden's chances of defeating Donald Trump in the upcoming election.

Reflecting on her past encounter with De Niro's passionate anti-Trump tirade during her Fox News days, Kelly expressed skepticism over the actor's potential to sway voters this time around.

Megyn Kelly recalls Robert De Niro's anti-Trump rant

“I was in the primetime of Fox, and we had Robert De Niro on camera in an exclusive rant about Donald Trump,” Kelly told Dave Marcus and Stu Burguiere on the Tuesday, May 28, episode of 'The Megyn Kelly Show'.

Kelly reminisces De Niro's fiery remarks against Trump, a moment she describes as a pivotal event during the 2016 election cycle.

“It was the first time he’d really come out and said how he felt about politics. And we broke that on my show, when he ran and lost to Hillary Clinton.”

She continued, “So what is it that they think has changed between then and now that De Niro couldn’t get Trump defeated in 2016 to Hillary, but somehow he can do the job now against Joe Biden?”

Kelly's doubts resurface following De Niro's recent press conference outside the courthouse where Trump's hush money trial draws to a close.

Robert De Niro unleashes fiery rant against Donald Trump

At the press conference, De Niro passionately denounced Trump's alleged desire to "sow chaos" and "destroy" not only the city but the entire country.

"I love this city," De Niro said. "I don’t want to destroy it. Donald Trump wants to destroy not only the city but the country, and eventually he could destroy the world."

"He wants to sow total chaos."

However, Kelly questions the effectiveness of De Niro's message, particularly his decision to have January 6 police officers accompany him. She argued that their overt partisan stance and disdain for Trump might undermine the credibility of the message, suggesting that their perspective is clouded by what she terms as "Trump derangement syndrome".

"These two [officers] in particular have been so partisan, so political," she said. "They hate President Trump. And I get that maybe they have additional reasons to dislike him, given what happened on 1/6 … Everything he says about Trump is interpreted through the most harsh, partisan Trump derangement syndrome-afflicted lens. We get it. De Niro, too."

Internet reacts to Robert De Niro's anti-Trump stance

Social media platforms ignited with a flurry of reactions to Robert De Niro's tirade against Donald Trump.

One user wrote, "Robert De Niro is delusional."

Another wrote, "Why do they keep saying that Trump will never leave? He was President before and left. De Niro is mad with TDS."

One user replied, "He’s so ridiculous…stop badmouthing Trump and take care of yourself."

Another user replied, "Robert Dinero has destroyed his legacy.."

One said, "We would like you to leave De Nero. Go back to corrupt Hollywood."

Another said. "I will never support another movie of this man ! He is ridiculous!!"
