BRENTWOOD, LOS ANGELES: Hollywood legend Rob Reiner and his wife, Michele Singer Reiner, were found slain in their Los Angeles home on Sunday, December 14, in a shocking tragedy discovered by their daughter, Romy Reiner.
Just weeks before, Romy had shared heartfelt moments from a beach vacation with her parents, saying she was "Thankful for family."
Multiple sources told People that the couple’s deaths were the result of a violent incident involving a family member. Emergency responders confirmed finding two bodies inside the residence in the afternoon after a 911 call.

Throughout his teenage years, Nick struggled with periods of homelessness and repeatedly entered and left rehabilitation programs.
In a 2016 interview, he discussed his prolonged battle with drug addiction, which at one point resulted in him becoming homeless.
He also explained that his experiences with addiction inspired the semi-autobiographical film 'Being Charlie', which he co-scripted.
According to family friends speaking to The LA Times, Rob and Nick had a disagreement with his parents on Saturday evening during a party at Conan O’Brien’s residence, and several attendees observed Nick behaving unusually throughout the event.
Romy Reiner's heartfelt Instagram posts
Just weeks before the incident, Romy shared a family moment on Instagram on December 1, writing in part, “Thankful for family, health, and followers of any age,” alongside several photos showing her with her parents during a beach vacation. She had shared a similar post on November 30.
Romy often shared affectionate posts about her father on Instagram, once writing, “Happy birthday to my other best friend,” alongside a photo of him holding her as a child. She also made a similar tribute to her mother, calling her “my best friend” in a birthday post.
Rob Reiner's legacy and family
Rob, a renowned film director, producer, and actor, first gained fame for his role as Mike Stivic on the Norman Lear sitcom 'All in the Family'.
As a director, he helmed several beloved and critically acclaimed films, including 'This Is Spinal Tap' (1984), 'Stand by Me' (1986), 'The Princess Bride' (1987), 'When Harry Met Sally…'(1989), 'Misery' (1990), and 'A Few Good Men' (1992).

While Romy has not made any public comments, Tracy told NBC News that she is in shock over the sudden loss of her father and his wife.
