Ronny Chieng starts a 'late night war' as he gloats about 'The Daily Show's Emmy win over Seth Meyers show
MANHATTAN, NEW YORK CITY: Late-night television just got a whole lot spicier as comedian Ronny Chieng joined Seth Meyers on 'Late Night with Seth Meyers' and sparked a friendly feud that had the audience in stitches.
Meyers wasted no time expressing his excitement, stating, "I'm so thrilled to have you here," to which Chieng replied with gratitude, "Thank you! Thanks for having me!"

In a recent X post, the show wrote, "Watch out, @ronnychieng isn’t afraid to start a late night war".
Following their exchage of pleasantries at the outset, Chieng opted to playfully emphasize 'The Daily Show's triumph at the Emmys over 'Late Night with Seth Meyers'.
Reflecting on his upbringing in Malaysia, Chieng expressed his admiration for American institutions, drawing a humorous parallel with Meyers.

In a lighthearted tone, Chieng remarked, "You know, I grew up in Malaysia, and I’m such a fan of American institutions, just like yourself".
"And who knew? Who knew that one day, I could come to America, come to New York City, do comedy, join 'The Daily Show', be in the same Emmy category as you, and defeat you!" he added.
"We're the best show!" Chieng proudly declared, brandishing a picture of Trevor Noah and the crew clutching the coveted trophy.
With unwavering confidence, he asserted, "This show. That proves it. We won. We're the champions. Love it or hate it, we won. We're the better show. We're objectively the better late-night show!"
In response to some dissenting hisses from the audience, Chieng playfully provoked them, saying, "Boo! Boo all you want."
Chieng talks about the one reason he moved to America
Despite Meyers' reputation as a good-natured host, he attempted to acknowledge Chieng and 'The Daily Show's success and smoothly transition to the next topic.
However, Chieng wasn't ready to let go of the banter. "No, we got to keep this going," Chieng insisted. "We got to start beef between the shows. Come on. Say some s**t!"
Meyers, ultimately opting to avoid any confrontation, surrendered gracefully, expressing his reluctance for a feud. However, Chieng remained undeterred, still harboring a spirited desire for more banter.
"This is how we save our networks. We've got to talk [bleeped but you know] about each other's show. I'm trying to start a late-night war," Chieng declared.
He went on to argue that one of the reasons he moved to America was to experience the late-night angst that he had grown up with.
"We have a strong history of late-night-talk-show drama in this country," he asserted, referencing iconic figures such as Carson, Letterman, Conan, and Leno.
However, his attempts at stirring up a conflict lacked any real bite, as his endeavors into malice were more on the lighthearted side.
"I'll start the beef, okay? I'm going to say some stuff about this. Late Night with Seth Meyers — this show is on too late," Chieng joked. "Okay? If you're watching this live, go to bed!"
