NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Roseanne Barr has publicly distanced herself from Robert F Kennedy Jr's controversial video confession about disposing of a bear cub's carcass in Central Park, as per The Independent.

The video, in which Kennedy recounts the bizarre incident, has sparked widespread backlash and garnered significant media attention.

In a video posted on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter, Kennedy recounts a peculiar tale from October 2014.

According to Kennedy, he encountered a bear cub that had been hit by a car while he was on his way to a falconry trip in upstate New York. The cub was killed instantly, and Kennedy decided to take the animal with him.

He mentioned, "I was going to skin the bear – and it was in very good condition – and I was going to put the meat in my refrigerator. And you can do that in New York State. Get a bear tag for a roadkill bear."

While state law permits the collection of roadkill under certain conditions, Kennedy would have needed to notify the Department of Environmental Conservation to obtain the necessary tag.

However, the situation took a bizarre turn when Kennedy, after a day of falconry and a dinner at Peter Luger Steakhouse, realized he could not take the bear home.

He recounted, "At the end of the dinner, it was late, and I realized I couldn’t go home. I had to go to the airport, and the bear was in my car, and I didn’t want to leave the bear in my car because that would have been bad."

In a spontaneous decision, Kennedy decided to stage the bear's death as an accident involving a cyclist.

He left the cub's body in Central Park next to an old bicycle he had in his car. "So we did that and we thought it would be amusing for whoever found it or something," Kennedy said, describing the plan as cheerfully endorsed by his dinner companions.

The next day, news of the dead bear cub found in Central Park made headlines, causing a media frenzy. Kennedy's recollection included seeing extensive police presence and media coverage.

"The next day... it was on every television station. It was a front page of every paper and I turned on the TV and there was like a mile of yellow tape and 20 cop cars, there were helicopters flying, and I was like, ‘Oh my god. What did I do?’" he said.

Following the video's release, Barr, who was present during the story's recording, took to X to clarify her involvement.

"This was not filmed by me or my team. This was off the cuff after the interview. There is no spin here- just a funny story. It’s nice to see RFK finally get some press- Albeit during an economic crash by the Biden Harris administration. Great job journos!" she wrote, distancing herself from the narrative.

Roseanne Barr's attempt to downplay incident does little to quell outrage online

Despite Barr's attempt to downplay the incident, the Internet reacted with outrage.

One X user slammed RFK, saying, "He has a dead worm in his brain. My expectations are pretty low."

Another user remarked, "Animal cruelty is a funny story? I guess in MAGA world."

A third user commented, "He is a nutjob like u. He will never be prez and u will never have another tv show again. You are cancelled racist," while another wrote, "You will forever be associated with this crazy ass MFer. And you are pretty crazy on your own."

One user suggested, "No Spin? So he just randomly after the interview with cameras rolling happens to drop the bear story just days before he knows the MSM is about to break it on him anyway to get his version out first? I could be mistaken here, but this sounds like the definition of spin."

Another comment read, "This is 'Off the wall' WEIRD! JFC, what is happening, to all the normal people who do normal things? I feel like I’m in the Twilight Zone with these two nuts! Tell me his run for president is a joke! Please!"

The criticism continued with one user stating, "It's a disgusting story." Lastly, a user said, "A Funny story about .... Lying and Dishonesty for political gain."
