Rosie O’Donnell offers peek into her ‘best day ever,’ shares photo with newborn grandson
NEW YORK: Comedian Rosie O'Donnell offered a sneak peek into the “best day” of her life. The 64-year-old took to Instagram to share a special photo with her followers.
Revisiting the special moment when she met the infant for the first time, O’Donnell shared a photo on Sunday, April 5, showing her grandson Anthony Joel in her arms.

The photo, which features O’Donnell sitting on a couch wearing a face mask and holding the baby in her arms, was captioned, “best day ever.”
"Met my grandson Anthony. Truly a beautiful child," she wrote.
"I'm so proud of the happy parents, Teresa and Blake," O’Donnell added, referring to her son Blake, 26, and his wife, Teresa.
In a separate post from the hospital, O’Donnell shared a photo of herself, Blake, daughter Vivienne, 23, and her youngest child, Clay, 13, sitting side by side on the couch, taking turn to hold the newborn.
"Thrilled to have Vivi and Clay with me as we all meet the new baby," she captioned the post.
O’Donnell first announced the arrival of her fifth grandson on Saturday, March 28, with an Instagram post, expressing her joy and congratulating parents Teresa and Blake.
"Anthony Joel O’Donnell has arrived! And my heart burst open,” she wrote at the time.
“Congratulations to mama Teresa n Blake Christopher — I love u so,” O’Donnell added in the caption, posting a black and white photo of the newborn’s foot.
Blake and Teresa announced pregnancy in September
Blake and Teresa had announced that they were expecting their first child a year after their wedding. The couple had shared a photo of a onesie with "Baby O'Donnell March 2026" written on it as it hung on a clothesline next to a sonogram photo in a field of sunflowers in an Instagram post.
“Our lives are about to get a whole lot sunnier," the couple captioned the post. "Baby OD arriving March 2026."
Meanwhile, O’Donnell has five children, including four with ex-wife Kelli Carpenter, and 13-year-old Clay with her late ex-wife, Michelle Rounds.
O’Donnell is also a grandmother to five. She welcomed her fourth grandchild in 2023, when her daughter Chelsea gave birth to her first son, Atlas. Chelsea also welcomed three daughters before giving birth to her son.
In a TikTok post on January 15, 'The League of Their Own' star announced that she had shifted to Ireland with Clay. Later, she cited “feud” with President Donald Trump and changes made by his administration as the reason behind her move.
