NEW ORLEANS, LOUISIANA: Donald Trump made history this year as the first sitting US president to attend the Super Bowl, but his early departure from the game has sparked some curiosity.
While many were surprised to see him leave before the game between the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs had finished and claimed that it was because the Chiefs were losing, security expert Will Geddes explained that this move was far from unusual for a high-profile figure like Trump.

Security expert explains why Donald Trump's early exit from the Super Bowl was a safety necessity
Security expert Geddes told LADbible that it wasn't surprising Trump left the event early, explaining that the Super Bowl is exactly the kind of event he would typically depart from before it concluded.
Geddes mentioned that Trump's attendance at the Super Bowl would necessitate "massive secret service and additional security support to make sure that it could happen," and he would need to leave "before the vast masses of people exiting the stadium would leave."

This kind of heightened security ensures that the president is protected from potential threats, and leaving early is often a strategic choice to minimize risk. Geddes continued, "He'd have a clear exit to get out, the roads wouldn't be so congested."
Geddes stated that, from a security standpoint, it was a matter of either leaving the Super Bowl early, allowing Trump to continue watching the game from a vehicle, or staying until the end, which would likely result in him remaining for several hours after the event concluded.
Geddes likened the situation to well-known actors attending movie premieres, walking the red carpet, taking their seats, and then exiting early through a designated exit. The security expert emphasized that it was not disrespectful to the event, but rather a result of security requirements.
Donald Trump’s early departure from Super Bowl ensured secure extraction
Trump’s early departure allowed him to avoid the crowd as the stadium emptied, ensuring that he could be extracted securely and swiftly. Geddes explained that large events like the Super Bowl present significant challenges for security, with detailed plans in place for every move the president makes.
"They would have planned for a variety of different extraction plans, not only by road, but potentially also by air. That’s not uncommon," Geddes explained.

While Trump’s visit to the Super Bowl was certainly an unusual one, Geddes made it clear that security concerns play a major role in such decisions. He concluded, "The whole stadium has been evacuated, all the spectators have gone, you can move then or you leave early and those are really your only two options."
In the end, Trump was seen boarding Air Force One well before the game’s conclusion, keeping to the prearranged exit plans and heading home while the final moments of the Super Bowl unfolded.
As for the event itself, one security-related incident did make waves: a dancer in Kendrick Lamar's performance pulled out flags of Sudan and Palestine, causing some controversy before being apprehended.
Critics mock Donald Trump’s early Super Bowl departure after Chiefs' loss
A wave of online reactions followed Trump's early departure from the Super Bowl, with many users poking fun at his exit after watching the Kansas City Chiefs, the team he supported, lose to the Philadelphia Eagles.
A user said, "Lol. Trump left the Super Bowl after watching the team he picked, the Chiefs, get slaughtered by the Eagles…he must be really upset because he immediately announced he’s getting rid of the pennies. Well, at least he’s not imposing tariffs on the Eagles!"

So much winning.
The third commentator remarked, "Like a pissy petulant child Donald Trump left the SuperBowl early because his prediction of a Chiefs win, didn't happen. Obviously everything dude predicts falls apart, everything he touches lands up bankrupt. Congratulations Philadelphia Eages!"

Congratulations Philadelphia Eages!
"So, Trump wanted the Chiefs to win, and he did not like the half-time show. To cap it off, he left early. What a waste of our taxpayer money," said a critic.

"Trump turned out to be a jinx for the Kansas City Chiefs, and didn’t even have the decency to stay till the end, after spending millions in taxpayer money to show up," a person slammed the president.
