Selena Gomez rings in 2026 with Benny Blanco by her side, shares cozy photos from New Year's Eve
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Selena Gomez welcomed 2026 by posting a series of images from her New Year’s Eve spent with husband Benny Blanco.
The singer and actress shared a carousel of photos on Instagram. The post was captioned with just a single snowflake emoji.
The images showed Gomez and Blanco in a series of cozy moments. One photo featured the pair hugging each other amid festive décor, while another caught them sharing a kiss as fireworks lit up the night sky behind them. Other snapshots showed the newlyweds bundled up in winterwear.
Gomez and Blanco share a solid bond
Gomez has previously discussed her relationship with Blanco.
Reflecting on what he means to her, she gushed about his impact on her life. “He's just been a light. A complete light in my life. He's my best friend. I love telling him everything,” she said during an interview with Vanity Fair.
Blanco, meanwhile, has been equally open about how much the relationship centers his day-to-day life.
Speaking on a podcast, he explained his mindset when it comes to Gomez. “When I wake up, I think to myself, like, how can I make Selena's day better? Like, what can I do in my day to make her day better? Because that makes me happy,” he shared.
The couple’s relationship moved rather quickly. Their engagement was announced in December 2024, followed by a wedding in September 2025. This New Year’s Eve, therefore, was their first as a married couple.
A relationship built on trust and understanding
Gomez has spoken candidly about how her relationship with Blanco differs from her past experiences. “The biggest thing in the world is trust. I can say with all my heart that I trust this person,” she told podcaster Jay Shetty.
She added that having a partner who understands her professional life has been crucial. “So for me, knowing that I have a partner who understands my world and doesn't make me feel like I have to choose between my happiness and my career is everything.”
Gomez has described him as 'the best thing that's ever happened to me.'
Blanco hasn’t been shy about returning the praise. At one point, he admitted flatly, “I worship the ground she walks on.”
Even their disagreements appear to be minor. Blanco recalled a lighthearted moment from a recording session. “The biggest thing we got into was about birds,” he quipped.
The couple has also shared details about how their romance unfolded. “When we first started dating, she had hand surgery, and she was coming out of anesthesia, and she just goes, 'I love you.' And I said, 'What?'” Blanco recalled during an interview.
Their professional collaboration has also played a role in strengthening their bond. Speaking about working together on a joint album, the couple reflected on blending their lives. “We got to do what we love with who we love,” they said on the album cover.
