Benny Blanco says Selena Gomez 'showed me designs' while he dropped 'little hints'
In an Interview Magazine cover story for March 2025, Selena Gomez explained that she has loved this particular cut since her 2015 hit 'Good For You' where she sang about being a "marquis diamond."
Benny Blanco shared that he subtly gathered Gomez's preferences before proposing. “I just tried not to f***k up,” Blanco said during the interview.

"She showed me designs and I would always throw little hints," Benny Blanco told the publication.
"I'd be like, 'Yeah, but if I ever made one, would you want it like this?' And then she changed her mind halfway through," said Blanco.
The producer recalled how the design evolved over time. "It used to have huge baguettes on the side and then she was like, 'I don't want something that big,'" Blanco said.

Gomez responded saying, “I just think it’s too much,” but her fiance ensured her “the end result is perfect.”
Benny Blanco says Selena Gome 'basically has three wedding rings'
Benny Blanco further explained how the final ring came together. "So now I have extra baguettes and we're going to make earrings for her. She basically has three wedding rings," Blanco said, according to Daily Mail.
Gomez, 32, who is starring in 'Emilia Perez'and recently announced a new album with Blanco, joined him for their first joint interview as an engaged couple.
They are preparing for the release of their album 'I Said I Love You First' set to drop on March 21. Their first single, 'Scared of Loving You', was released on Thursday, February 13.

Selena Gomez says 'I liked him before he liked me'
When asked about the proposal, Selena Gomez shared that the couple wants to keep that story private for their future children.
"That I want to save for our kids. It was really sweet and the right things were said," Gomez said, with Benny Blanco adding that it had been "the sickest surprise."
The pair also reflected on how their relationship developed. "It was really simple. We got in the studio to work on a song and we just talked; that's how easy it was for me. I liked him before he liked me," Gomez shared.
Blanco admitted he initially did not realize Gomez had feelings for him. "The second time we hung out, our second date, I was like, 'Wait, does she like me?' I was clueless," he said.
