LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Rare Beauty by Selena Gomez has offered to provide free mental health services to immigrants and their families amid the ongoing ICE crackdown across the country.

The actress has long been a critic of the Trump administration and its take on immigrants, and she’s now taken a step further by offering free mental health resources.

The beauty brand posted about the initiative on its Instagram page. The statement shared via Instagram Stories, which has disappeared now, read, “In the light of the events unfolding in Minneapolis and across the country — and the ways these moments can impact our collective emotional wellbeing — taking care of our mental health and checking in with one another remains a top priority.”

Rare Beauty offers to provide chat with licensed mental health therapists

The message further stated that those who feel they need help and support can “join us for a Rarechat with licensed mental health therapists,” as it gave details about the experts.

“We’ll explore practical ways to manage anxiety, cope with stress, and support one another as we navigate what’s happening in our communities,” the social media post added.

Democrats demand answers in Renee Good and Alex Pretti's deaths

The initiative by Gomez’s cosmetic company has come at the heels of the disturbance caused by ICE nationwide, especially in Minnesota, where two US citizens were fatally shot by federal officials.

On January 7, Renee Good was killed by an ICE agent named Jonathan Ross, while Alex Pretti was shot dead on January 24 by a Border Patrol agent.

Both the shootings have been justified by the Trump government as it tagged Good and Pretti as threats.

However, locals, families of the victims, and Democrats have demanded accountability as well as a fair investigation into the incidents.

Micayla, the sister of Pretti, an ICU nurse, said in a statement that “hearing disgusting lies spread about my brother is absolutely gut-wrenching, and my family is deeply grateful so many people have stood up and helped tell his truth. He would be very proud.”

Following Pretti’s death, New York City Mayor Zohran Kwame Mamdani wrote on X, “As tens of thousands across America protest the violence that ICE sows with impunity, federal agents shot and killed another person in Minneapolis today.”

“ICE terrorizes our cities. ICE puts us all in danger. Abolish ICE,” he demanded.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, popularly known as AOC, also condemned the killings.

She wrote on X, “We have a responsibility to protect Americans from tyranny. DHS just shot a man in broad daylight two weeks after they shot a mother in the face without consequence. They need our votes to continue. We cannot give it to them. Every Senator should vote NO.”
