According to TMZ, Blair allegedly bit one flight attendant and punched another aboard Delta Airlines flight 938, which was travelling from Los Angeles International Airport to John F Kennedy International Airport.
The New York Port Authority confirmed to Entertainment Weekly that the Port Authority Police Department (PAPD) responded to a call about a “physically abusive passenger aboard Delta Airlines flight 938” at approximately 11 pm ET.
“Suspect was identified as Selma Blair, a 54-year-old woman. She was taken into custody and transported to the hospital for evaluation,” the Port Authority said. “Two flight attendants also reported injuries, and one was transported to the hospital for further evaluation. The FBI is investigating this incident. For further information please reach out the airline and the FBI.”
The FBI also confirmed that it was investigating a potential assault aboard the aircraft. “The FBI is responsible for investigating all assaults aboard aircraft. Yesterday, we were informed by our partners at Port Authority Police Department of a potential assault aboard a flight that arrived into JFK airport,” the agency told EW. “As per long-standing DOJ policy, we do not comment on ongoing investigations.”
Dispatch audio obtained by TMZ reportedly captured officials requesting medical personnel at the gate after reports of minor injuries, including a bloody nose and bite marks. The audio also mentioned that the disruptive passenger required medical attention after allegedly bashing her head against a bulkhead.

Selma Blair's previous in-flight incident and multiple sclerosis journey
Delta confirmed to EW that paramedics and law enforcement met Blair and the injured flight attendants at the gate. “Delta has zero tolerance for unruly or unlawful behavior, as the safety of our customers and crew always comes first,” the airline said, adding that there was “no operational impact” because the flight “landed ahead of schedule at JFK.”
Although the medical condition behind the alleged behaviour remains unclear, Blair has been in remission from multiple sclerosis (MS) following her 2018 diagnosis and subsequent stem cell treatment.
The actress previously faced an in-flight incident in 2016, when she reportedly suffered a blackout after accidentally mixing medication with liquor during a flight from Cancun to Los Angeles.
Blair apologized in a statement to Vanity Fair, saying, “I made a big mistake yesterday. After a lovely trip with my son and his dad [Jason Bleick], I mixed liquor with medication. That caused me to black out and led me to say and do things that I deeply regret.”
She explained that her son had been asleep with his headphones on while travelling with his father, adding that she took the incident seriously and apologised to the passengers and crew she had disturbed. “I am a flawed human being who makes mistakes and am filled with shame over this incident. I am truly very sorry,” Blair said.
