MANHATTAN, NEW YORK CITY: Seth Meyers consistently takes a humorous yet critical approach to dismantle and debunk false claims and rumors propagated by Donald Trump.
With sharp wit and incisive commentary, Meyers skillfully dissected Trump's statements, yet again, on the January 18 episode of the 'Late Night With Seth Meyers'.
'Trump called Cruz a liar and a cheater...'
After an extended conversation on Trump's false claims on winning Iowa caucuses for the third time (when it was only his second), Meyers said, "I wonder if Cruz is jealous of DeSantis and Haley. Those two ran against Trump and got off relatively easy".
"Trump called DeSantis a meatball and floated some birther nonsense about Haley, but that's it. Back in 2016, Trump called Cruz a liar and a cheater, sicced his supporters on Cruz, insulted his wife's appearance and claimed his dad killed JFK," Meyers added.

Meyers then joked that Cruz might be frustrated for not having rumors spread about DeSantis, suggesting, "Why can't you spread some rumors about DeSantis -- say his hair is fake or his grandpa killed Abraham Lincoln or stole his white go-go boots from the Fembots in 'Austin Powers'?".

He expressed enjoyment in creating fake Trump-like rumors about others, further noting in a Trump-style jest, "You know, Ron likes to fight Disney, but not many people know he got his start as one of the dolls in "It's a Small World After All". He only hates Disney because without his boots, he's not allowed on any of the rides."
'Seth's monologues are my therapy'
Through his comedic monologues and segments, Meyers has become known for confronting misinformation, offering viewers a blend of laughter and truth in his efforts to counter Trump's false narratives.
So, netizens did the same this time, taking to the show's YouTube channel to comment, "I watch your re-air segments on YouTube nearly every night. Thanks for your team's outstanding creativity- and, accuracy in satire!"
