Seth Moulton questions if Trump may ‘want to take over’ Poland or India after Greenland for 'world peace'

WASHINGTON, DC: Massachusetts Democratic Rep Seth Moulton criticized President Donald Trump’s foreign policy regarding Greenland aloud during the Saturday, March 29, edition of 'CNN Newsroom'.
Appearing on the network over the weekend, the Democrat voiced his concerns over Trump’s burgeoning desire to annex Greenland while pondering whether the 78-year-old Commander-in-Chief wishes to “take over” even Poland, India, and Mongolia over their close proximity to Russia and China, respectively.

“What are these concerns with Russia and China’s interests there in the Arctic? Are those real? And is it just that you believe he’s going about this in the wrong way?” Dean asked Moulton, who replied that with Russia’s military now using the Arctic water to set up base there, the threat is real.

While he admitted that “those are real security concerns,” Moulton said, “The irony is that they’re actually real because of climate change, which is reducing the ice in the Arctic, making it much easier for ships to travel. And Russia is establishing a lot of bases up there.”
While he agreed with Trump’s concerns, he was not keen to support the president’s plan to nullify the concerns, as he pointed out that for years, America has resorted to “enlist our allies’ help” to deal with such situations.
“And the way America has addressed serious national security concerns for decades is to enlist our allies’ help,” said the Massachusetts representative, before explaining, “Because we don’t have the forces to put everywhere around the globe.”

Seth Moulton snapped that President Trump might not stop at Greenland when it comes to acquiring new territories that border areas of strategic importance.

Further, he put forward the rhetorical question, asking, “So, if Trump is so concerned about Russia and China, then does he want to take over Poland, because they border Russia? Does he want to take over India, because they border China? Does he want take over Mongolia kind of in between the two?”
“I mean, this is just absurd,” the congressman added.
He explained, “That’s not how the United States operates. It’s a dumb way to conduct foreign policy.” Moulton also pointed out that America has alwas taken the help of the nation’s allies to deal with international crises.
“And it doesn’t strengthen our national security,” shared Moulton, before pointing out, “It actually puts our national security at risk because our greatest strength is our allies.”
He elaborated on the importance of maintaining trust with the allies, noting, “And when our allies can’t trust us, they won’t fight for us. They won’t stand up to our adversaries. And all of that makes America much less safe.”
Donald Trump says America ‘has to have’ Greenland
Rep Seth Moulton’s passionate speech opposing Donald Trump’s desire to take Greenland came after the President declared at a press conference on Friday, March 28, that it is “not a question” that America “has to have” Greenland.
He shared, “We need Greenland very importantly for international security. We have to have Greenland. It’s not a question of do you think we can do without it? We can’t,” referencing the Russian and Chinese fleet in the Arctic waters.
“We’re not talking about peace for the United States. We’re talking about world peace,” Trump added.
