NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: NBC’s Saturday Night Live poked fun at President Donald Trump’s White House ballroom project in its episode that aired on Sunday, November 2.

Hosted by actor Miles Teller, the show featured a standout parody in which Teller doubled as HGTV’s “Property Brothers” Drew and Jonathan Scott.

James Austin Johnson reprised his popular Trump impression, while Chloe Fineman portrayed Melania Trump in a satirical sketch that blended political excess with home renovation.

In the sketch, Teller’s dual characters, “the energetic Scott brothers”, introduce their latest project with gusto: “This week, we’re taking on our biggest challenge yet, building the new White House ballroom.”

The scene then cuts to their clients, Trump and Melania, who eagerly show off their presidential home. Trump struts through the corridors holding a crown from his Asia trip and boasts, “Nothing says democracy like a crown, right?”

He pauses beside a table of gold urns, gesturing proudly as he declares, “I put these gold urns everywhere… that makes me happy.”

The twins then unveil their bold plan “to demolish the entire East Wing of the White House amid a government shutdown to create a new ballroom with a budget between $350 million and infinity.”

When asked about permits, Trump bursts out laughing, “I could build this ballroom with the bones of my enemies, and no one could stop me.”

Drew Scott adds that he told “Donald that our No. 1 priority was to preserve the historic nature of the building,” only for Trump to send him a GIF of the White House blowing up in Independence Day. Trump is depicted constantly expanding the ballroom’s size on a digital blueprint and creating an inspiration board featuring images like Jabba the Hutt’s palace from 'Star Wars: Return of the Jedi.'

The sketch also highlights Trump’s decision to pave over the Rose Garden, with Jonathan Scott remarking that it now looks like “outdoor seating at an Olive Garden.”

Chloe Fineman adds elegance and edge as Melania Trump in SNL skit

Chloe Fineman’s Melania adds understated humor throughout the segment.

The brothers marvel at the 55,000-square-foot mansion’s 132 rooms, prompting Melania to note dryly, “It used to feel smaller.” When the brothers ask about the White House’s Halloween decorations, Melania proudly shows off a hallway filled with cobwebs, flickering lights, and life-size skeletons dressed in designer suits.

“Very tasteful,” she insists, as one of the brothers glances around nervously and replies, “It’s… definitely spooky.” After hearing about the East Wing demolition, she delivers the punchline: “At least the noise will drown out cable news.”

The sketch closes with a final gag, Trump calling ICE on the Canadian brothers after discovering their nationality, while Melania calmly walks away.
