MANHATTAN, NEW YORK CITY: During his 'War Room' program on May 30, conservative media figure Steve Bannon insinuated that certain Republican lawmakers of the House are influenced by large donors.

Bannon, who previously held the position of White House chief strategist under the Trump administration, stated to his audience the necessity for investigations into the legal actions taken against former President Donald Trump.

Trump, considered the presumptive GOP presidential nominee, has faced indictments at both the state and federal levels, which he and his supporters assert are politically motivated. The former POTUS has entered a not guilty plea to all charges in these various proceedings.

The conservative talk show host criticized House Judiciary Committee Chair Jim Jordan of Ohio, House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer of Kentucky, and House Speaker Mike Johnson of Louisiana for what he viewed as inadequate support for the MAGA movement.

"Once again. I beg of you. Where is Jim Jordan, where's Comer, where's Polly Pockets Johnson. Where are the subpoenas? Where is an investigation? Why are people not being held accountable? Why does it take [conservative activist] Mike Davis and [former Trump aide] Kash Patel and the same people over, and over, and over again. [Former Republican Nevada attorney general candidate] Sigal Chattah...Why does it take them pounding, pounding, pounding," Bannon said.

He continued, "You know why, the fix is in. The donors don't want it. What the donors want is [former Republican presidential candidate] Nikki Haley as prime minister."

Nikki Haley, a former governor of South Carolina and former United Nations ambassador, faced criticism during her campaign for allegedly being influenced by her large donors. She withdrew from the GOP primary in March.

Bannon told Newsweek on June 2, "The House Judiciary Committee should issue subpoenas for documents, staff depositions, and public hearings to the government officials and private actors who are conspiring to violate the civil rights of President Trump, his aides, and his allies by waging this unprecedented, Republic-ending lawfare and election interference."

Netizens divided over Steve Bannon's claims

Steve Bannon's insinuation that certain Republican lawmakers are influenced by large donors received mixed responses from viewers.

One viewer said, "LoL it’s cute that you still think that Jim Jordan is a republican."

Another noted, "No Bannon, They need to move the convention date up and nominate President Trump before the sentencing. We want results now! July the 4th sounds like the perfect date."

Someone else wrote, "They post. Steve knows what’s happening, they’re operatives of the uniparty. Nothing substantial will come from them, EVER! Just look at their donors. They’re the worst of all enemies because they are behind the enemy lines trying to blend in with the good representatives."

Yet another netizen observed, "They're part of the Uniparty!"

One comment read, "100% agree. Johnson is feckless. Jordan is all talk, meetings and no action."

Another said, "They are all compromised! They won’t ever do anything!"

"Because they’re part of the problem," explained one person.
