Suki Waterhouse reveals daughter's surprising Batman-inspired nickname for dad Robert Pattinson

BEVERLY HILLS, CALIFORNIA: As Robert Pattinson continues filming the upcoming 'Batman' sequel, his fiancee Suki Waterhouse offered a glimpse into how the role has become part of their family life during her Tuesday, July 28, appearance on the 'And The Writer Is' podcast.

The singer and actress shared a sweet update about their two-year-old daughter and their family life during her podcast appearance. Waterhouse has also reflected on their daughter beginning to understand both parents' careers.

Waterhouse recalled one recent FaceTime call with Pattinson while he was filming the superhero sequel, explaining that their daughter has grown accustomed to seeing him in full costume. 

“She’s on FaceTime today to her dad who’s covered in blood with huge black circles around his eyes,” she said. “And I’m like, ‘Hi.’ We’re just like, ‘It’s fine.’”

Rather than being frightened by the makeup and costume, their toddler appears completely unfazed. “She doesn’t actually seem to notice,” Waterhouse shared. “She calls him ‘Daddy Batman’ now because he’s always dressed up like that now for the next seven months whenever he’s on FaceTime.”

The 34-year-old also revealed that their daughter has begun recognizing her own career. Waterhouse said the toddler pointed to a girl with a guitar in a storybook and told her, “That’s your job. She watches me play guitar, and she says like, ‘Mommy songs. I’ll show her my music videos and stuff. It’s cool. She does have some idea.”

Although her daughter cannot fully remember the songs, she said the little one played a role in shaping her latest album, 'Loveland,' which was released earlier this month. “When I was writing my album, I would test-write them on her. It definitely influenced me if she had a little dance going,” she said.

The singer also noted that her daughter has been fascinated by her work from an early age. Speaking to E! News in September 2025, Waterhouse revealed that one of the toddler’s first words was “fittings” and added, “Like when I have something to go to, she wants to come to the fitting.”

Waterhouse and Pattinson first sparked romance rumours in July 2018 after they were photographed together during a PDA-filled date night in London. The couple became engaged in 2023, and she announced her pregnancy during a performance in November that year.

In March 2024, the couple welcomed their daughter, with the news first reported after they were photographed walking in Los Angeles while pushing a pink stroller. Despite largely keeping their family life private, both have occasionally shared stories about parenthood.

Speaking to Variety in an interview published on May 28, Waterhouse said she now feels settled creatively and personally and hopes to expand their family. “I feel like I’m in it for the long run. I just want to keep creating, really, and maybe have a larger family… like max two more kids. That would be cool,” she said. 

Pattinson has also spoken about fatherhood on several occasions. While promoting 'Die My Love', he noted that filming the movie coincided with the birth of his daughter, allowing him to draw on real-life parenting experiences.

“My daughter was basically the same age as a child in the movie,” he said in November 2025. “So you're kind of going through incredibly similar stuff. You don't know — no one knows how to do it correctly. I mean, you can just try your best.”
