PALM BEACH, FLORIDA: With convincing victories against Nikki Haley in the majority of the 15-state Super Tuesday contests, former President Donald Trump got closer to earning his third consecutive Republican presidential nomination.

According to quick estimates by the Associated Press, Trump easily won Alabama, Arkansas, Colorado, Maine, Massachusetts, Minnesota, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, and Virginia; as of around 11 pm, Haley had only taken Vermont.

Trump said during the victory speech, "We have a great Republican Party with tremendous talent and we want to have unity. And we’re going to have unity, and it’s going to happen very quickly."

The former commander-in-chief did not mention Haley in his victory speech, which he delivered before the California primary and the Utah and Alaskan caucuses ended.

Trump said, laying the blame on Joe Biden, who won all contests except American Samoa, "Now we have a very divided country. We have a country that a political person uses weaponization against his political opponent — never happened here. It happens in other countries, but they’re third-world countries. And in some ways, we’re a third-world country."

Neither his daughter Ivanka Trump nor son-in-law Jared Kushner attended the speech, nor did the former First Lady Melania Trump. Tiffany Trump, Donald Trump Jr, and Eric Trump, the three adult children of the former president, were present.

He listed the Abraham Accords between Israel and four Arab governments, tax and regulatory cuts, and tariffs against China as some of his term's successes during his speech. However, he bemoaned the fact that he did not receive more praise for his handling of the Covid-19 outbreak.

Trump added, "We’re going to close our borders, we’re going to drill, baby, drill, we’re going to get inflation down, and we’re going to make our country greater than ever before."

He further added, "We wouldn’t have Russia attacking Ukraine. We wouldn’t have Israel being attacked. Iran, as you know, was broke when I was running things, they were broke. They didn’t have money for Hamas."
