PRINCETON, NEW JERSEY: The great-great-great-grandson of former US President Theodore Roosevelt, also known as Teddy Roosevelt, came in for scathing criticism after it was revealed that he is an anti-Israel protester at Princeton University.

Anti-Israel sentiment has engulfed universities all over the United States of America, with students raiding campuses and raising Palestinian flags.

In one instance, some protestors attempted to desecrate the American flag at the University of North Carolina when they were confronted by UNC fraternity boys who prevented the flag from dropping to the ground despite being pelted by objects.

Theodore Roosevelt's great-great-great grandson is anti-Israel protester

According to the New York Post, Quentin Colon Roosevelt, the great-great-great-grandson of President Roosevelt, seems to be straying from his ancestor's principles by openly supporting anti-Israel protests popping up at universities nationwide.

The 18-year-old freshman at Princeton University, who was once the youngest elected official in Washington DC, holds strong anti-Israel views despite his famous ancestor's backing of a Jewish state.

In a now-deleted social media post, Quentin called for Princeton, where he sits on the student government, to "divest" from Israel. He also pledged unwavering support to the cause, posting an image of a hand-drawn Palestinian flag.

Quentin, who also campaigned for 'Squad' member Summer Lee's reelection, retweeted a post likening Israel's actions to "genocide" and accused the country of "massacres in Gaza". Yet, he remained silent on terrorist attacks by Hamas that claimed over 1,200 Israeli lives, as stated by the New York Post.

Reports suggest Quentin may have played a role in organizing anti-Israel protests at Princeton, where students have waved Hezbollah flags, called for an "intifada revolution," and clashed with Jewish counterprotesters.

“We’ve set up a peaceful student protest in solidarity with our peers at Columbia, Yale, UT Austin, and other universities nationwide,” Roosevelt announced on social media during the initial protests.

Since the protests began on April 25, over a dozen Princeton students have been arrested, prompting Roosevelt to condemn police actions. He even tried to pass a resolution in the student government denouncing the arrests, but faced opposition from the Jewish student body, forcing a rescheduled vote.

The New York Post notes that in contrast, Theodore Roosevelt, Quentin's famous ancestor, supported the Balfour Declaration in 1917, backing the establishment of a "national home for the Jewish people" in Palestine.

Roosevelt famously expressed support for a Zionist state in Jerusalem in 1918, becoming the first US president to appoint a Jew to his cabinet and praising Jewish colleagues during his tenure as commissioner of the NYPD.

As quoted by the New York Post, he said at the end of WWI in 1918, "It seems to me that it is entirely proper to start a Zionist state around Jerusalem."

Internet reacts to Quentin Roosevelt's anti-Israel stance

Social media users were quick to express their views over Quentin Roosevelt's anti-Israel stance, which is quite opposed to his famous ancestor's stance.

A user on X wrote, "The proverbial apple fell far from the tree."

Another user wrote, "I think something happened in the bloodline....Maybe vacccines."

A user commented, "Not surprised. Entitled rich kids."

Another user commented, "Their actions, recorded forever on the internet, may come back to haunt them when they are 25 and looking for a job."

A user stated, "Teddy Roosevelt is rolling in his grave."

Another user stated, "Disgraceful to a great man of American history. Shameful."
