CHAPEL HILL, NORTH CAROLINA: Social media lit up with admiration after footage emerged of a bunch of college fraternity boys coming in to rescue the American flag from a group of anti-Israel protesters determined to drop the flag on the ground.

They were praised not only for their bravery but also for their love of their country. A GoFundMe was created to call for donations for the group as a token of appreciation.

UNC fraternity boys save the American flag form being desecrated

According to the New York Post, the group of fraternity boys at the University of North Carolina (UNC) are being hailed for safeguarding the American flag from an anti-Israeli crowd determined to raise the Palestinian flag.

A GoFundMe campaign was launched for the Pi Kappa Phi students and has already collected over $319,000 a the time of writing, in recognition of their brave action at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill campus this week.

Describing the scene, the organizers of the GoFundMe page wrote, "Commie losers across the country have invaded college campuses to make dumb demands of weak University Administrators. But amidst the chaos, the screaming, the antisemitism, the hatred of faith and flag, stood a platoon of American heroes. Armored in Vineyard Vines and Patagonia, fueled by Zyn and White Claws, these triumphant Brohemians protected Old Glory from the unwashed Marxist horde -- laughing at their shrieks and wails and shielding the Stars & Stripes from Soviet missiles."

The organizers continued, "These boys... no, men, of the UNC Chapel Hill Pi Kappa Phi, gave the best to America and now they deserve the best. Help us raise funds to throw this frat the party they deserve, a party worth of the boat-shoed Broleteriat who did their country proud."

As reported by Newsweek, the incident unfolded during a clash between pro-Palestinian demonstrators and counter-protesters on campus, part of a series of similar protests nationwide.

When the pro-Palestinian group attempted to raise their flag, the Pi Kappa Phi fraternity intervened, protecting the American flag from being desecrated.

Despite facing hostility from the crowd, including being bombarded with objects and insults, these courageous young men valiantly ensured that the American flag remained untarnished.
