KERR COUNTY, TEXAS: A Texas pediatrician, Dr Christina B Propst, was fired over a vile Facebook post that suggested the people killed in the devastating Texas floods, including children, were President Donald Trump's supporters who got "what they voted for."

She made the now-deleted post under her old Facebook username, Chris Tina. The flash floods that took place on July 4 have reportedly killed more than 100 people so far, according to the latest reports.

Dr Christina B Propst wrote in her social media post, "May all visitors, children, non-MAGA voters, and pets be safe and dry. Kerr County MAGA voted to gut FEMA. They deny climate change. May they get what they voted for. Bless their hearts."

The post was later deleted by the pediatrician, but a screenshot of her vile statement was shared across social media platform X (formerly Twitter).

She faced massive backlash for her insensitive remarks, which ultimately led to her employer, Blue Fish Pediatrics, firing her from her role in the company.

The company initially stated that the employee had been suspended, before announcing that "the individual is no longer employed" there.

An official statement by the company read, "As we previously mentioned in our original statement, we strongly condemn the comments that were made in that post. That post does not reflect the values, standards, or mission of Blue Fish Pediatrics."

The doctor's office further added, "We do not support or condone any statement that politicizes tragedy, diminishes human dignity, or fails to clearly uphold compassion for every child and family, regardless of background or beliefs."

Earlier, a statement was shared by the head of the Texas Medical Board, Dr Sherif Zaafran, saying she had been placed on leave.

Dr Zaafran posted on X, "Thank you for alerting us to this. I was made aware of this earlier. This is the response of her employer attached on here. There is no place for politicization. The entire focus needs to be on looking for survivors. Any complaints we may receive will be thoroughly investigated."

Meanwhile, the Texas Medical Board has not announced a formal investigation.
