'That's really cool, Mom': Maren Morris reveals 6-year-old son's response to Swift-Kelce wedding
MANHATTAN, NEW YORK: Maren Morris had a whirlwind weekend, going from an appearance on the 'Today' show in New York City to attending Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's wedding just hours later on Friday, July 3.
After returning home, however, the Grammy-winning singer discovered that the biggest moment of her weekend meant little to her 6-year-old son, Hayes, whose attention was entirely focused on Pokemon. Swift and Kelce exchanged vows in front of around 1,000 family members, friends and celebrity guests during a ceremony officiated by comedian and actor Adam Sandler.

Morris documented her hectic travel schedule in a TikTok, revealing that she flew from New York City to Los Angeles and then back to New York in a single day. Sharing the clip, she wrote, "Flew from NYC to LA back to NYC in a day and tried to describe my insane weekend to my 6-year-old son who respectfully doesn't care about anything but Pokemon right now.”
In a follow-up TikTok, she recounted the conversation she had with Hayes after returning home. She told him, "I went to my friend's really cool wedding this weekend." Instead of asking about the celebration, Hayes quickly shifted the conversation to his favorite topic.
"And he said, 'That's really cool, Mom. Did you know what Pokemon can mega-evolve?' or something. I love him," she shared.
Morris shares Hayes with her ex-husband, Ryan Hurd. She attended Swift and Kelce's wedding alongside a large group of country music artists and their partners. She also shared photos with singer-songwriter Kelsea Ballerini on Instagram.
Miranda Lambert's Instagram Stories featured Morris alongside Ballerini, Lambert's husband Brendan McLoughlin, Sugarland's Kristian Bush, Little Big Town's Kimberly Schlapman and her husband Stephen Schlapman.
The social media posts also included Little Big Town bandmates Karen Fairchild and Jimi Westbrook, as well as Phillip Sweet and his wife Rebecca Arthur.
Inside Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's wedding celebration
According to an insider, Swift and Kelce's wedding featured performances by Paul McCartney and Stevie Nicks, along with an extensive guest list of famous friends and colleagues. Another source said the couple were "beaming" throughout the celebration.
"A huge smile never left either of their faces," the insider said, adding that the fun-filled atmosphere included "so many games," a raffle and other "added excitement." The source added, "The whole evening felt very guest-centric, there was always something to do, see or play. There was never a dull moment."
The venue was transformed into a lush garden setting for the wedding. An insider said, "It was so whimsical inside. After you walked through the peach area [upon entering], everything was transformed into a rose garden.”
After dinner, the celebration continued with musical performances, and the event "turned into a whole party," according to the source. An insider previously shared that part of the venue was redesigned to resemble "like a forest," complete with ferns, trees and other flora, while the arena seating was covered in white.
During the ceremony, Swift "walked down the aisle to a stage where they said 'I do,'" the insider revealed, adding that her and Kelce's vows "were about 20 minutes each" and were read from gold books.
The couple also provided guests with custom-embroidered handkerchiefs for the emotional moments throughout the ceremony.
