WASHINGTON, DC: Fox News’ ‘The Five’ co-host Jessica Tarlov has reprimanded Charlie Kirk for posting a "gross and Islamophobic” tweet, and urged him to "take it down."

The 31-year-old Turning Point USA founder took to X on Tuesday, June 24, to share a post about “a Muslim Socialist” being New York City mayor following Zohran Mamdani’s win in the Democratic mayoral primary, according to Mediaite.

With the result yet to be declared, the 33-year-old Mamdani was declared the Democratic mayoral primary winner after garnering 43.5 percent of the first-place votes, according to early results from the New York City Board of Elections on election night.

The state assemblyman from Queens topped Andrew Cuomo and nine other candidates in a crowded primary field in an election that was determined by ranked-choice voting.

Following Mamdani’s apparent win, Kirk shared an alleged ‘Islamophobic’ post, reading, “24 years ago, a group of Muslims killed 2,753 people on 9/11… Now a Muslim Socialist is on pace to run New York City.”

The Conservative firebrand’s post sparked a fierce backlash, including from Tarlov, who slammed him, writing, “Charlie – this is so gross and Islamophobic. Take it down.”

In response to Fox News host’s criticism, Kirk protested back and wrote, “Debate me on the merits, don’t just throw out petty thought-terminating cliches.”

“This isn’t 2015; that doesn’t work anymore. What Muslim country do you prefer to live in, Jessica? What western city or country has improved as the Muslim population has increased?”

“America’s largest city was attacked by radical Islam 24 years ago, and now a similar form of that pernicious force is poised to capture city hall. Be courageous enough as a liberal to call it out, I know deep down you are worried about what he will do, you just are afraid to say it.”

Tarlov then shot back, saying, “I’m not afraid to say that I don’t think Mamdani’s vision for the city is a good one, and I think a lot of his policies are crazy – NYC is the home of capitalism, not socialism. I want more police funding, not to defund. BDS is repellent. We can’t freeze rent, making everything free. But none of that has to do with him being Muslim.”

Internet slams Charlie Kirk over 'Islamopobic' tweet

Charlie Kirk faced backlash not just from Jessica Tarlov but also from angry internet users, who called him out over his ‘meltdown’.

“Melt down more,” one user said. “I know it’s hard for you that someone who isn’t owned by Israel won. I’m sorry for your loss. :(“ the second user slammed.

“There were 2,977 9/11 victims. Looks like you’re the one dishonoring the dead,” the third user wrote sarcastically.

“Proving that New Yorkers are not despicable racists like you. Let’s GO ZOHRAN!!!” the fourth user commented while the fifth user blasted “If you still push the official narrative of 9/11, your opinion about anything else can't be trusted.”

“24 years ago you had baby teeth an grown up gums. Today you still have baby teeth with adult gums 😂😂,” another user trolled.

“Charlie’s mouth looks amd now even acts just like a puppet. Speak Charlie speak. Say the lines mister,” one more attacked.
