NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Alina Page, a mother, tragically killed herself on Thursday, December 14, by jumping from a high-end apartment building located on the Upper East Side.

It is reported that before her death, Alina was involved in an intense dispute with her husband Brian Page, who is a distinguished surgeon.

As per sources, the husband, who is reportedly "devastated," stated that he "wasn’t even home" at the time of the incident, per New York Post.

Who was Alina Page?

Page resided in a luxurious building, known for its private shuttle service to the subway every half hour, with her large family, as confirmed by several sources.

Originally hailing from Russia, Page often shared pictures on Facebook, showcasing her radiant smile alongside her two young children.

She and her husband were on the brink of commemorating their 16th wedding anniversary, falling just 11 days short of the milestone, per NY Post.

While the police have not officially classified Page's fall as a suicide, residents informed The NY Post that the building is equipped with exceptional safety features to avert accidental falls.

The Brittany, a luxurious apartment building situated just a few blocks away from Gracie Mansion, is renowned for its "breathtaking, panoramic water views" overlooking the East and Harlem rivers.

As per StreetEasy, the cost of a unit featuring two bedrooms and two bathrooms can be approximately $7,500.

Alina Page's tragic death

The woman, aged 35, leaped from the 36th floor of The Brittany following a confrontation with her husband about her alcohol consumption, as reported by law enforcement sources to The Post.

Her husband stated that he was not present during the tragic incident. However, he reportedly refrained from commenting on whether there was a dispute.

"She was the love of my life, my soulmate," the husband said. "I am devastated."

The mother of two was reportedly discovered with injuries indicative of a fall at the intersection of York Avenue and East 92nd Street, around 6.45 pm.

Page was immediately transported to NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell in a critical state but later died due to the severity of her injuries.

Renter highlights building's safety measures

"The railing is really tall … I would say at least 4 feet," a renter stated. "[The windows] don't open. They crack."

"All of them have child safety. I have small cats so they wouldn't be able to fit through. So she wouldn't. I'm just glad I didn’t see it. It's a very family-friendly building," they added.

Public in shock over Alina Page's death

Taken aback by the tragic death, several have turned to the Internet to voice their concerns.

A person commented on Facebook, "Just a few blocks from me, so tragic, RIP."

Another wrote, "NYC has the most falls from high buildings than any other US city. Pretty stressful to live here if you can afford the rents, I guess!"

"She survived for a while after a 36 story fall. That's seems impossible," someone added.

One person theorized, "She probably bounced off things on the way down to slow down the fall."

Another said, "Tragic with two very young kids who need their mom."
