WASHINGTON, DC: Former President Donald Trump's lawyer Alina Habba made fun of New York Attorney General Letitia James after an appeals court drastically lowered the amount of bail he needs to pay while he challenges his multimillion-dollar civil fraud fine, as per The Hill.

During her Monday, March 25 appearance on Fox News 'Jesse Watters Primetime,' Habba was questioned by the broadcaster over the court's ruling to reduce Trump's $464 million bail to $175 million.

Habba said, "We won. You know, no — we didn’t win. You know when we’ll win? When we get this all reversed, which is what’s gonna happen."

Additionally, Habba criticized James and Judge Arthur Engoron, who initially ordered Trump to pay $355 million in interest, alleging that the former president conspired to falsify his net worth to receive favorable treatment from banks and insurance companies.

Moreover, the judge ruled that Trump must pay prejudgment interest, which is calculated by adding the interest based on the dates of each transaction in the case.

By the time the appeals court decided to reduce his bond, the total sum owing had increased to $464 million, with extra interest added daily.

She added, "So, what happened today, was that Letitia had to eat every single tweet she has posted since the day the twisted order from Judge Engoron came out with the ridiculous number with the disgusting injustice on the American people, not just Donald Trump."

Furthermore, Habba stated that she was "having fun" posting about the daily interest added to Trump's sentence and that she "would love to see" what James put online following the court's ruling.

Notably, Trump and his attorneys failed to secure a bond before the deadline on Monday, March 25, despite their best efforts to obtain one covering the enormous amount. The judgment's enforcement was put on hold by a five-judge appeals bench, provided that Trump paid the much smaller bail within 10 days.

James, the attorney who first filed the civil fraud lawsuit against Trump, has previously warned that she would confiscate his assets if he fails to pay the fine by Monday.

Internet stays divided as Alina Habba mocks Letitia James

Several people on the internet remained divided and had mixed reactions as Alina Habba mocked Letitia James during her interview with Fox News.

A user posted on X, "Her rich client couldn't pay his fine. That's never going away. Another court undid the fine without hearing a single word from the NY AG which is what Republicans did with Roe. They make up their minds before they hear any evidence. They're corrupt."

Another person wrote, "She realizes she lost no matter how much it was reduced right? 175$ million is A LOT OF MONEY," while one added, "She did absolutely nothing to affect that decision."

A person also stated, "Rest assured, AG James will have the last laugh," whereas one mentioned, "Have you scrolled X? Habra is not the only one mocking her hefftyness." [sic]
