BERLIN, NEW HAMPSHIRE: Social media was abuzz following an interaction at the New Hampshire town hall, where a 9-year-old child compared Nikki Haley to John Kerry while questioning her decision to serve in Donald Trump's administration.

During the same address, Haley garnered attention when the Republican presidential candidate neglected to mention slavery as a cause of the Civil War, raising eyebrows among the audience.

In a recent campaign ad against President Joe Biden, Haley faced criticism from 'The View' host Sunny Hostin, who referenced Haley's comments on the Civil War and the omission of slavery from her remarks.

Adding to the headlines, recently Donald Trump Jr emphatically dismissed the possibility of Haley being his father's running mate for the 2024 presidential election.

Haley, who served as the US ambassador to the United Nations for 23 months during Trump's presidency, initially supported him, stating he was the right leader. However, during her presidential campaign, she expressed the view that Trump was unfit for a second term due to the "chaos" he created.

Former New Jersey Gov Chris Christie criticized Haley for being too soft on Trump, previously.

According to the New York Post, during a recent New Hampshire town hall event, a child confronted Haley, citing Christie's opinion, and said, "Chris Christie thinks you’re a flip-flopper on the Donald Trump issue, and honestly, I agree with him. You’re basically the new John Kerry. How can you change your opinion like that in just eight years, and will you pardon Donald Trump?”

In response, Haley acknowledged criticism from both "anti-Trumpers" and "pro-Trumpers" and explained her perspective. She stated “I told you that I agreed with a lot of his policies. But do I think he’s the right president to go forward? No. We can’t handle the chaos anymore.”

Addressing Christie's criticism, Haley mentioned his obsession with Trump and emphasized thinking beyond individual personalities.

Haley clarified to the child that she was "no John Kerry" and expressed a willingness to forgive Trump in the interest of the country.

She argued that it was not in the best interest of the nation to have an 80-year-old man in jail, as it would continue to divide the country, according to the New York Post.

John Kerry, the 2004 Democratic presidential nominee, faced criticism for altering his stance on crucial issues. Presently, Kerry holds the role of the United States Special Presidential Envoy for Climate.
