NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene earned the Internet's ire as she took to X (formerly Twitter) on February 17 to slam Adm Rachel L Levine, the Assistant Secretary for Health, and the first openly transgender four-star officer in the United State's eight uniformed services.

The Georgia representative attempted to troll Levine as she appeared on a video produced by the US Department of Health and Human Services during Black History Month to raise awareness of the disproportionate impact of climate change on the black community.

In her post, Greene not only targeted the transgender community but also criticized Democrats while dismissing the challenges faced by the Black community.

On the social media platform, she stated, "Here is a man pretending to be a woman claiming the climate is hurting black Americans more than others. This is the Democrat Party. Mental illness on full display."

Accompanying the text was the video featuring Levine, where she is seen in her uniform, saying, "This Black History Month, I'm pleased to partner with OMH in advancing better health through better understanding for Black communities."

"Climate change is having a disproportionate effect on the physical and mental health of the Black communities. Black Americans are more likely than white Americans to live in areas in housing that increase their susceptibility to climate-related health issues. And 65% of Black Americans report feeling anxious about climate change's impact," she continues.

"Through our Office of Climate Change and Health Equity and the Office of Environmental Justice, we're working with providers and community leaders to identify innovative approaches that empower communities to address the health consequences linked to climate change."

She concludes by urging viewers to visit HHS.gov for more information on the subject.

Internet reacts to Marjorie Taylor Greene's tweet

Netizens rebuked MTG for her disrespectful comments aimed at the Admiral, as the following tweets demonstrate.

"They are not pretending to be anything! They’re being themselves without shame. America is great, and our citizens are encouraged to be their best selves," wrote a user.

"Quite an accomplished career unlike you," jibed another.

"How about having an open mind to being accepting and inclusive of other people who are different than you?" questioned a user, adding, "If that had been the case since you took office, you could have done more for the American people."

"You sure think about trans people and genitals a whole lot," slammed a user.

"This person is a US citizen and has every right to be who she wants to be. What is un-American is YOU DONT WANT HER TO BE HERSELF. You want her to be who YOU think people should be. This isn't a matter of wokeness. It is you discriminating against someone who is different than you," stated a one person.
