NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene shared a rant on X after former President Donald Trump was sentenced in his civil fraud trial by the New York Supreme Court on February 16.

According to CBS News, Justice Arthur Engoron barred Trump from serving as an officer or director of any corporation or other legal entity in the state for three years. The same was applicable to his sons, Eric Trump and Donald Trump Jr.

Additionally, Trump and The Trump Organization were ordered to pay penalties of more than $350 million, which the publication claimed was among the stiffest corporate sanctions in New York history.

Marjorie Taylor Greene's tweets about Trump's lawsuit verdict

After the 92-page judgment was released, the Georgia representative took to social media to criticize Judge Engoron and New York Attorney General Letitia James for unfairly targeting Trump.

"Democrat New York Judge Engoron just ordered President Trump to pay $364M to NY state in the case brought by AG Letitia James. This is outrageous!" she began her statement.

"This case had zero victims. The banks Trump 'defrauded' provided testimony in defense of Trump Hotels. The entire case is built off the ABSURD claim that President Trump’s first-class Mar-a-Lago, situated on some of the most expensive property in the country and the world, is worth only $18M. Mar-a-Lago itself is probably worth more than $364M!"

Namecalling was involved, as Greene continued, "This sham persecution is Letitia James fulfilling her campaign promise to go after Trump — a nasty woman! These people belong in jail for the abuse of power they are wielding against President Trump and his family."

"We must end this weaponization of our justice system!" she concluded.

A picture of Justice Arthur Engoron smiling to the camera was included in the post.

Internet reacts to Marjorie Taylor Greene's tweet

Netizens seemingly agreed with the congresswoman's views, as the following tweets demonstrate.

"This is clearly a sham trial. Everyone involved in these proceedings should be reviewed and face charges," wrote a user.

"It never mattered. It was pre-decided. No surprises here. Just disappointment in the lawfare Dems are allowing," echoed another.

"This is what you get with a weaponized justice system. It’s called election interference," expressed a user.

Some even attacked the judge and the prosecutor, following the lines of MTG, tweeting, "Both the judge and the prosecutor need to be behind bars. They need to be disbarred and then behind bars."

"Trump needs to appeal in fair and unbiased courts. If these decisions are overturned then Trump should file fraud cases against everyone involved," shared another.
