NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Former President Donald Trump drew widespread ridicule after recently lashing out at the temperature in the courtroom during his ongoing hush money trial.

Trump, who has long cultivated an image of toughness and bravado, complained bitterly about the "freezing" conditions in the Manhattan courthouse, suggesting the low temperatures were intentional, as per The Hill.

On Friday, April 26, Trump, standing in the hallway just moments before the commencement of the fourth day of testimony in his trial, expressed his frustration, stating, "We have another day in court in a freezing courthouse."

He continued, "It’s very cold in there, on purpose, I believe. They don’t seem to be able to get the temperature up. It shouldn’t be that complicated."

The complaints about the courtroom temperature were not isolated to Trump alone. During jury selection the previous week, Trump’s legal team, potential jurors, the presiding judge, and members of the press all noted the frigid conditions.

Some individuals were observed shivering, prompting Trump’s attorney Todd Blanche to address the judge, requesting, "Judge, is it possible just to warm it up a degree or 2? It is so freezing in here."

Judge Juan Merchan responded candidly, stating, "Honest answer to that question is if I did that, it would probably go up about 30 degrees." Despite the discomfort, the judge added, "I would rather be real cold than sweating, and, really, those are your choices."

The courthouse, characterized by its Art Deco style and situated in lower Manhattan, has stood for approximately 80 years, which could contribute to the temperature control challenges. Blanche had noted during the jury selection process that "we are shaking" and everyone was "freezing."

Internet mocks Donald Trump in wake of his complaints about courtroom temperature

Trump's complaints about the courtroom temperature did not sit well with many users online, who wasted no time in mocking the former president. "Poor baby. OMG! This weakling wants to be president," remarked one X user.

Another user quipped, "No family, no friends, no ex-wives and going broke. But the temperature is what matters." One user commented, "And still you can’t manage to stay awake." Another person wrote, "He's a joke. The world is laughing."

A user suggested, "They keep it cold in courtrooms to keep you awake. Obviously that doesn't work with you. They can smell your gas and hear you snoring from every corner. How pathetic..."

Another user pointed out, "Wow!! This is your 'Strongman.' SMH!!" One user noted, "He’s always whining about the lights, the HVAC, the toilets, the showers, etc. Can’t handle the AC, What a manly man." A user advised, "An intelligent person would dress for it."
