NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: In a move that has sparked a frenzy on social media, Donald Trump's legal team reportedly spent about $700 on McDonald's during the former president's ongoing trial over the Stormy Daniels hush money case.

According to fast-food chain employees near the Manhattan courthouse, three members of Trump's staff placed the order, astonishing the employees with its magnitude, as reported by Daily Mail.

Donald Trump's staffers neglected to leave tips for workers who prepared extensive order

According to the employees, the order comprised 27 quarter-pounders, 27 servings of fries, filet-o-fish burgers, and chicken nuggets. Despite receiving four large bags of food, the staffers reportedly failed to leave a tip for the workers who prepared the extensive order.

The order was placed on Thursday, April 18, just before noon during the third day of the legal proceedings.

"They came here yesterday and bought lots of food with nearly $700. They ordered 27 quarter-pounders, 27 fries, chicken nuggets, and filet-o-fishes. They didn't even leave a tip, nothing," an anonymous McDonald's employee revealed to Daily Mail.

The employee further added that this wasn't the first time they had encountered Trump's staff members, recalling a similar incident from the previous year when he faced a different set of legal battles.

Judge Juan Merchan scheduled Trump's criminal trial to begin on April 15, which would make it the first criminal prosecution of a former American president. Trump was charged with 34 counts of falsifying business records last year, which prosecutors say was an effort to hide a potential sex scandal, both before and after the 2016 election. Donald Trump's strong fondness for McDonald's is widely known

Trump's strong affinity for McDonald's is widely acknowledged, with his preferred meal reportedly comprising two Big Macs, two Filet-O-Fish sandwiches, and a chocolate malted milkshake, as disclosed by former aides in their book, 'Let Trump Be Trump.'

Throughout his presidency, Trump's affection for McDonald's was evident. In 2019, during a government shutdown, he made headlines by ordering $5,500 worth of McDonald's to feed the Clemson University football team, as the White House kitchen was not operational.

Even amid his health scare with COVID-19 in October 2020, Trump couldn't resist indulging in McDonald's, reportedly ordering from the fast-food chain while in recovery.
