WASHINGTON, DC: Rep Tim Burchett blasted Democrats over their criticism of President Donald Trump following US military strikes on Iran, accusing them of selective outrage.
While speaking to NewsNation on Saturday, February 28, Tim Burchett argued that similar actions under past administrations did not trigger the same level of condemnation.
His remarks come as tensions in the Middle East continue to escalate after coordinated US strikes on Iranian targets.

Tim Burchett calls out 'hypocrisy'
Burchett directly invoked former President Barack Obama while defending Trump’s actions.
“President Obama bombed 8 countries without Congressional approval,” Burchett said, pushing back on Democratic claims that Trump’s Iran strikes were unprecedented.
“So I think it’s a little disingenuous for the Democrats start saying this is unprecedented,” he added.
“And you’ve got the most able regime, outside of probably the Chinese, in the whole world right now.”
Burchett further pointed to Iranian-linked attacks on Americans, stating, “And they’ve killed Americans within recent memory.”
He suggested the strikes may carry an element of retaliation. “Is this the revenge tour? Maybe be a little bit. But you poke the bear you get it.”
“Or you poke the bull, you get the horns and the horns and the horns right now are Donald J. Trump”, he added.
“And he’s letting an enemy of this country know how we feel about them.”
US - Israel strike Iran
The political clash follows a major escalation between Washington and Tehran after US forces carried out targeted strikes on Iranian military infrastructure.
The operation, coordinated with Israel, reportedly focused on facilities linked to missile systems and regional military operations.
Senior officials in Israel were informed:

Khamenei has been eliminated. His body was recovered from the ruins of his palace.
Iran responded with retaliatory missile launches targeting US assets and allied positions in the region, raising fears of broader conflict.
NBC's Kristen Welker: "I asked President Trump if he had confirmation that Ayatollah Khamenei has, in fact, been killed. He said to me, 'I've spoken to a lot of people. We feel that is a correct story... A large number of their leaders have also been killed.'" pic.twitter.com/LFhAct4OVC

As Israeli media outlets confirmed the killing of Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, President Trump also told NBC News that his administration believes reports of Khamenei's death are true.
This came after Israeli media outlets reported that Khamenei's body had been recovered.
Lawmakers in Washington remain divided, with Republicans largely backing Trump’s show of force, while many Democrats question the scope, legality, and long-term consequences of the military action.
