Timothee Chalamet's mom pays tribute to Kylie Jenner's grandmother MJ Shannon after her death
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Timothee Chalamet’s mother, Nicole Flender, joined the Kardashian-Jenner family in remembering Mary Jo “MJ” Shannon on what would have been her 92nd birthday by commenting on Kris Jenner’s Instagram tribute shared on Sunday, July 26.
The tribute marked her first posthumous birthday, 10 days after Kris announced her mother's death at age 91, as several members of the Kardashian-Jenner family also shared heartfelt messages celebrating her life and legacy.

Flender, whose son Chalamet is dating Kylie Jenner, left a heartfelt message beneath Kris' Instagram post, writing, “So happy I got to know her.” Kris shared a carousel of family photographs from one of MJ’s previous birthday celebrations.
In the images, MJ smiled while wearing a bright floral-print jacket and posing alongside her. Another family photo featured Kris’ daughters Kim Kardashian, Kendall Jenner and Khloe Kardashian, among many other relatives.
“Happy Heavenly Birthday Mommy. I love you,” Kris captioned the post. Meanwhile, Chalamet and Kylie have continued to strengthen their relationship since they began dating in 2023.
They made their first public appearance together at the 2024 Golden Globe Awards before making their official red carpet debut at the 70th David Di Donatello Awards in Rome in May 2025. On May 16, the couple was photographed spending time with Kendall and Jacob Elordi.
An insider previously revealed to PEOPLE, "They both are in a great place, make each other laugh and friends and family love them together. Kylie is so relaxed with him, he puts her at ease and she makes him feel so secure. Friends can see them in it for the long haul, but they aren't rushing anything."
Chalamet also became part of an important Kardashian-Jenner family tradition when Kris included his name on the family's gingerbread house in December. She later showed support for the actor by wearing 'Marty Supreme' merchandise ahead of the film's Christmas Day release.

Kim also shared a birthday tribute for her grandmother, writing, "Happy Heavenly 92nd Birthday grandma! It’s only been a week but wow the amount of things I’ve learned about you this week from going through all of your stuff with mom has been beautiful! I thought I knew it all! Makes me respect you and love you more if that’s even possible."
Kris had previously announced MJ’s death on July 16, writing, "There are no words that could ever capture what she has meant to me or the heartbreak of having to say goodbye. My mom was the heart of our family. She taught me everything that truly matters … to love your family fiercely, to be kind, to show up for the people you love, and to never take a single moment together for granted."
After MJ’s death, a source told PEOPLE that Kris and her children were "heartbroken," describing MJ as the emotional center of the family and one of the sisters’ greatest inspirations.
Kim also reflected on working with her grandmother at Shannon & Co, her children's boutique in San Diego. "You gave me my very first job at your store in San Diego and taught me lessons about work ethic, strength, and confidence that I’ve carried with me ever since. You always believed in me, championed me, and were my safe place," she wrote.
Khloe also remembered her grandmother in an Instagram tribute shared on July 19. "My sweet MJ," she wrote, adding, "Thank you for showing us that life is meant to be celebrated, that laughter is healing, and that love is the greatest legacy we can leave behind. You lived so fully, so gracefully, and so beautifully."
