LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Kim Kardashian has mastered the art of turning internet chatter into content, and this time, she's making herself the punchline. The reality star and aspiring lawyer isn't shying away from her bar exam setback.

Instead, she's owning it with a cheeky one-liner in her latest energy drink commercial that's already getting people talking.

Kim Kardashian pokes fun at herself with bar exam joke months after setback

The socialite poked fun at one of the biggest setbacks in her legal journey in a new advertisement she shared on X (formerly Twitter). The commercial opens with a mock press conference, where reporters pepper her with questions about her work ethic and public image.

At one point, she quips, "People are always asking about all of the work I've gotten done," before adding, "They always ask: 'Kim, how do you do so much? Kim, how do you keep going?'"

The ad's biggest punchline comes later, when Kardashian sits inside a glass display case at an art gallery. Renowned attorney Gloria Allred then asks, "Did she even ever pass the bar?" Without skipping a beat, Kardashian responds, "No, I didn't pass the bar. I raised it."

As a savvy businesswoman, Kardashian knows how to turn challenges into opportunities. Instead of avoiding the criticism, she used it to create a clever commercial that delivers a witty message to her audience.

Inside Kim Kardashian's journey to pass the California bar exam

After completing six years of legal training through California's Law Office Study Program, Kardashian sat for the California Bar Exam in July 2025. However, she revealed in November that she had fallen short of the required passing score.

To earn a law license in California, candidates must achieve a scaled score of 1,390 out of 2,000, the minimum passing mark set by the State Bar of California.

Sharing the news on Instagram Stories, she wrote, "Six years into this law journey, and I'm still all in until I pass the bar. No shortcuts, no giving up- just more studying and even more determination." She added that she feels "so close" to reaching her goal.

Even after passing the "baby bar" following several attempts, Kardashian faced another hurdle with the California Bar exam. Despite the setback, she has remained committed to her goal, saying she will continue studying and retaking the exam until she becomes a licensed attorney.
