Coco Jones says marriage to Donovan Mitchell is a 'breath of fresh air' and inspires her music
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Coco Jones is still on cloud nine after her marriage to Donovan Mitchell. The 28-year-old tied the knot with the NBA player on August 1.
Now, just over a month after their wedding, the singer has shared that her marriage to Mitchell feels like a “breath of fresh air.” She also revealed that her marriage has “inspired” her music because it is filled with love.
Jones released her latest song, 'Love Me Through,' on August 21, using behind-the-scenes footage from her wedding as the official music video. The song features love-inspired lyrics such as “I can’t help but go hard for your love” and “we forever locked in.”

For Jones, marriage has brought a new sense of ease, and that feeling is now making its way into her music. “Newlywed life is a breath of fresh air because I’m not stressing over a wedding anymore,” she tells PEOPLE. “I’m just living my life like it’s golden.”
She also revealed that married life has influenced her music career. “It’s influencing it a lot,” she says. “Obviously I’m inspired by love, but I’m also, like, ‘How do I still talk in a universal way? How do I tap into emotions that every girl could feel, whether they’re married or not?’”
She continues, “It’s important. And music is supposed to be applicable. So I want to make songs that every girl could sing, not just the married girls.” Previously, Jones shared a couple of cute videos and photos from her wedding on social media, giving fans a glimpse into her special day.

According to the New York Post, Jones and Mitchell first met at Fanatics CEO Michael Rubin's annual Fourth of July White Party in 2023. Fast forward to July 2025, Jones shared a rare photo of herself and Mitchell without a caption.
Many fans interpreted it as an engagement announcement. "After an amazing season and a sold-out tour, Donovan Mitchell and Coco Jones took a moment to recharge on vacation, which turned it into a beautiful engagement," a representative told People. "The couple has been dating for two years and looks forward to building a life together."
"Like, ever since I was a little girl. I knew I was going to be this performer, but I really wanted that moment to be just for me, me, not about views or clicks or sales. So I hope that it can be really intimate, really special," they added.
