LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: When it comes to Tom Cruise, nothing is impossible as the actor successfully performed daring stunts during Sunday’s passing the flag ceremony during the conclusion of Olympics 2024 on Sunday, August 11.

However, it has recently been reported that despite delivering a jaw-dropping performance, the exuberant Cruise “argued with producers over his safety rope,” and was left unsatisfied when his requests to loosen up protocols of safety weren’t heeded.

Nevertheless, his penchant for trying death-defying stunts kept the actor’s pals at the edge of their seats when he leaped from the Stade de France's roof to accept LA mayor Karen Bass's Olympic flag and mounted his motorcycle.

Following the stunt, a pre-recorded video of Cruise showed him skydiving into Hollywood and changing the famous double ‘o’ to two Olympic rings to honor Lo Angeles as the next venue of the Olympics.

Tom Cruise ‘argued with producers’ over safety rope

Always a perfectionist and a dedicated stuntman, Cruise helped in planning out the stunt that he performed, per OK! Magazine.

Per OK! Magazine, the ‘Top Gun: Maverick’ actor even told the coordinators "that he needed to do something that has never been done before."

To achieve the feat, an insider claimed that he even "argued with producers over his safety rope" being visible since "he felt it did not make the jump believable enough and he did not plummet as fast as he wanted," pe Daily Mail.

However, his friends were on a different page altogether!

The source further dished that Cruise’s friends rather "advised him against the jump and have told him he really needs to stop throwing himself into so many death-defying stunts,” before noting, "It's one thing when he's shooting a movie, but now this Olympics stunt — it's incredibly worrying.”

The source continued, "Tom knows the risks involved and he doesn't care," before adding, "He refuses to pull back. He truly believes he is larger than life.”

Fortunately, the stunts went smoothly and Cruise performed the stunts without harming himself.

Tom Cruise’s stunts were planned for 18 months

Despite the alleged argument over the safety ropes, Ben Winston, the producer of the stunts, did not divulge them while gushing about Cruise’s capabilities as a stuntman.

During an interview with Vogue, Winston shared, "We’ve been planning this for a year and a half."

He further added that their first choice was Cruise, saying, “The first thing we did was pitch Tom, because there’s nobody better to do an incredible stunt.”

He added, "I pitched him on the idea of a stuntman grabbing the flag, coming down from the roof of the Stade de France, and then taking his mask off and you see it’s Tom Cruise, who then jumps out of a plane and lands in LA" and added, "Tom said, 'I’m in, but I want to do the whole thing,' so it was this huge undertaking of this live stunt with Tom jumping off the roof."
