PARIS, FRANCE: In a dazzling finale to one of the world's most anticipated sporting events, the 2024 Paris Olympics closing ceremony concluded with a breathtaking performance by Tom Cruise.

The legendary actor and stuntman, renowned for his death-defying feats, lived up to the hype with an "epic stunt" that had everyone talking. 

Just a week after reports about his extraordinary plan emerged, Cruise pushed the limits of adventure. With Los Angeles set to host the 2028 Olympics, it was fitting that the city’s star took part in the traditional flag-passing ceremony.

Tom Cruise, 62, took center stage at the grand finale of the Paris Olympics closing ceremony, making an epic stunt dramatic entrance by leaping off a ledge while strapped into a harness. Thousands of fans and Olympians watched Cruise make his daring jump, marking a high point in the event. 

While 2024 Olympics organizer Tony Estanguet expressed gratitude to everyone involved in the Games and R&B star H.E.R. performed the American national anthem on her guitar, Cruise prepared for his next move.

After safely landing on stage, Cruise received the five-ring Olympic flag from gymnast Simone Biles and Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass. He then loaded the flag onto a waiting motorcycle and rode out of the arena, clad in his signature 'Top Gun' black leather jacket. 

In a video shared by NBC Olympics and Paralympics, Cruise was seen speeding through Paris on the motorcycle, passing iconic landmarks like the Eiffel Tower, before boarding a plane. As he donned skydiving gear to the tune of 'By the Way' by the Red Hot Chili Peppers, he leaped from the plane, heading toward the Hollywood sign where he transformed the "O"s into Olympic rings. 

He then handed the flag to Olympic cyclist Kate Courtney, who rode through Los Angeles with help from Olympians Michael Johnson and Jagger Eaton, arriving at a Red Hot Chili Peppers concert on Venice Beach. 

After the breathtaking performances, Cruise took to his official X page to share the experience, posting a selfie from the closing events with the message, "Thank you, Paris! Now off to LA."

Cruise was in Paris to witness various events, such as swimming on July 27, women's gymnastics qualifications on July 28, and the women's soccer gold medal match on August 10, where the US triumphed over Brazil.
