WASHINGTON, DC: In a new interview on Fox Noticias, President Donald Trump weighed in on Jill Biden’s influence during her husband’s presidency, denying she was acting as former President Joe Biden’s “autopen” but claiming she had significant sway over his administration.

“No, I don’t think so,” Trump said when asked if Jill Biden was essentially signing decisions for her husband, “but she was certainly involved,” referencing her controversial presence at a September 2024 Cabinet meeting, reports Fox News.

Trump aimed her much-debated appearance at one of Biden’s final Cabinet meetings in September 2024.

Donald Trump denies Jill Biden was Joe Biden’s 'autopen'

Donald Trump claimed real control came from “radical left lunatics,” calling Joe Biden the “perfect” figurehead because “he didn’t have a clue.”

“They (the Biden administration) had a lot of bad people. They had a lot of radical left lunatics in there, and I think he was perfect,” Trump said during his Fox Noticias interview. “He was perfect for them because he didn't have a clue.”

Biden’s cognitive state was a recurring issue during his presidency, especially after his widely criticized debate performance in 2024. Since he departed from office, several books have raised further questions about his health and decision-making capacity.

Trump, clearly proud of his health checkup, was quick to tout his physical and mental sharpness. Speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One on the way to his Florida home Friday evening, he said his annual exam at Walter Reed went well. “I felt I was in very good shape,” he added.

Trump also mentioned that he recently took a cognitive test, and couldn’t resist taking a swipe at Biden in the process. “I think it’s a pretty well-known test. Whatever it is, I got every one — I got it all right. I’ve taken the cognitive test, I think, four times and I've gotten nothing wrong. That’s what the American people want,” he said. “Biden refused to take it, Kamala (Harris) refused to take it.”

Donald Trump calls US-Mexico border 'perfect'

President Donald Trump praised the state of the US-Mexico border as “100%” and “perfect” in a Fox Noticias interview marking his first 100 days back in the White House.

“It's perfect now, and I don't know if you can tell. Perfect. But it's going to get better,” Trump told host Rachel Campos-Duffy. “We want people to come in, but they have to come in legally—and everybody agrees to that.”

Trump’s comments come amid a reported sharp decline in illegal crossings, with March figures from Customs and Border Protection showing historic lows in apprehensions, less in one month than in just the first two days of March 2024 under Biden.

Trump highlighted the administration’s tough stance on trade as one of its biggest wins.

“We're making tremendous amounts of money taking in billions and billions, hundreds of billions of dollars in tariffs from other countries that for many, many decades just ripped off the United States. And it's time that we not allow that to happen,” he said, referring to his recently announced tariff policy on April 2, dubbed “Liberation Day”.
