WASHINGTON, DC: Devarjaye "DJ" Daniel, the 13-year-old who dreams of being a police officer while battling incurable brain cancer, was thrust into the national spotlight when President Donald Trump swore him in as a Secret Service agent before a joint session of Congress on March 4.

He is now attempting a Guinness World Record for being sworn in by 1,000 law enforcement agencies across the country, Fox News reported on Saturday, March 29.

According to the publication, Daniel has already been sworn in by 914 agencies. He also holds multiple records at present, which include having the most keys to the city and the most "proclamation days."

Devarjaye 'DJ' Daniel has been keeping himself busy

Devarjaye "DJ" Daniel was reportedly sworn in by Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd on Friday, March 28. The media room at the Sheriff's Office was filled with a cheering crowd for the teenager, as Judd told Daniel, "At 18, you come back, you move to Florida, you come to work for me. Register to vote because you know I'm going to need some votes by that time."

"Trust me, if you want to say something, all you have to do is tell me to say it," replied Daniel, who was first diagnosed with cancer in 2018. Doctors gave the Texas boy five months to live at the time, but he beat the odds after undergoing multiple brain surgeries as part of a research study.

Daniel and his family will be occupied over the next few months, travelling to more agencies across multiple states.

"I'll keep going until my gas tank runs out, and that's when God calls you home," expressed the teenager. "The craziest thing is on my 11th brain surgery, God told me I was one of his angels and I'm doing God's work. On my 12th brain surgery, he gave me my wings, but he told me I'm going to take these back until you graduate the school called life."
