Trump gets 'big hug' from cancer survivor DJ Daniel, 13, as he’s made honorary Secret Service agent

WASHINGTON, DC: President Donald Trump got a "big hug" from 13-year-old cancer survivor DJ Daniel on Wednesday, March 5, after he was made an honorary Secret Service agent.
The 13-year-old got a standing ovation in the House chamber on Tuesday, March 4 night after the president surprised him by making him an honorary Secret Service agent, according to the New York Post.

DJ Daniel gives a 'big hug' to President Trump
DJ Daniel and his family met with the president in the Oval Office where the "newest member of the United States Secret Service" had a surprise for the POTUS.
Daniel told Trump, "There’s one more thing I got for you – a big hug", before wrapping him up and Trump replied, "That’s very nice."

During the meeting in the Oval Office, Daniel was wearing the same Houston Police Department uniform he wore for Trump’s big speech. He had earlier gifted the president a cowboy hat, per the outlet.
Daniel was accompanied by his father Theodis, and two young girls. Trump said, "What a good-looking family." He told Theodis, "That was a big evening last night" and he replied, "Yes it was."

On Tuesday, Theodis hoisted DJ into the air as chants of “DJ! DJ!” broke out in the House chamber after Trump announced the honor.

During his speech on Tuesday, Trump explained, "DJ has always dreamed of becoming a police officer. But in 2018, DJ was diagnosed with brain cancer."
He continued, "The doctors gave him five months at most to live. That was more than six years ago. Since that time, DJ and his dad have been on a quest to make his dream come true."
The president recounted how Daniel was made an honorary member of other law enforcement agencies across the country which included the NYPD, and praised his fighting spirit, per the outlet.
During an interview with 'Fox & Friends' on Wednesday, Daniel described his new Secret Service gig as the "biggest honor of them all."
He said, "I was not expecting it. Nobody even told us it was going to happen."
