Trump ally Steve Bannon accuses Ellen DeGeneres of 'infesting' UK after Democrats' loss
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: You just know it’s going to be a headline-grabbing recipe when Donald Trump loyalists Steve Bannon and Elon Musk are throwing shade at former TV titan Ellen DeGeneres.
The talk show queen and her wife Portia de Rossi are living their best countryside life in the Cotswolds, but apparently, not everyone is thrilled about it.
Steve Bannon lashes out at Ellen DeGeneres
Steve Bannon —Trump’s ride-or-die and never one to mince words — accused Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi of fleeing America after this year's presidential election. According to him, it is because of Trump’s return to power — and Ellen and Portia can't handle it.
Bannon let loose on his 'War Room podcast, saying "They're all infesting the Cotswolds."
“F--- them. They’re not resilient… They had every advantage of state power. They had the high ground. And guess what, we broke them, and now they’re whining like little children,” he added.
He went on to claim that Ellen and Portia bolted for the UK in protest of Trump’s return to the White House, vowing never to return. Meanwhile, he’s already predicting Nigel Farage will become Britain’s next prime minister.
According to insiders, however, Ellen and Portia’s transatlantic move had nothing to do with politics. The couple had reportedly listed their California home ages before the election results came in.
“This is Ellen and Portia’s retirement,” a source told Radar Online. “Neither one of them have any projects lined up. Ellen really felt she had made her mark on the industry, but that was diminished when she was canceled over her alleged treatment of her staff. Then to have celebrities call her out one by one was so hurtful.”
Tech billionaire Elon Musk chimed in with his own spicy take. Musk responded to an X (formerly Twitter) post implying that Ellen might have some inside scoop on Sean “Diddy” Combs’ rumored “Freak Off” parties. He didn’t say much, just a single emoji—a skeptical one—but that was enough to make waves on the internet.
For context, Diddy was a frequent guest on Ellen’s show. Musk’s cryptic emoji triggered an avalanche of responses, ranging from conspiracy theories involving Jeffrey Epstein to some pointing out Musk’s own alleged ties to Diddy.
A dream home in the Cotswolds
It was recently reported that just days after moving into their stunning Cotswolds estate, the couple found themselves marooned by flooding after a tributary of the River Thames broke its banks. However, Ellen refuted the rumors shortly after.
The former talk show host addressed the speculation about her farmhouse on Instagram Sunday, December 1, while celebrating her and wife Portia de Rossi’s dating anniversary. “P.S. for those of you concerned, our UK farmhouse did NOT flood," she clarified.
That said, the estate itself is the stuff of dreams: a converted farmhouse with six bedrooms, four bathrooms, a helicopter pad, a swimming pool, and even a one-bedroom cottage. There’s a five-bay garage for all their luxury rides and a heat pump keeping everything eco-friendly. But when the rain comes, it doesn’t care how charming your barns-turned-living-rooms are.
A local source summed it up for the Daily Mail. “It really is a beautiful house. It’s so quintessentially English, which as Americans they have fallen in love with," they said.
"Although they can forget about any glamorous southern California nightlife and weather. The area itself is very quiet, some might even say boring as there’s not much to do, especially in the colder months, but there are lots of celebrities in the area,” the insider said.
Back in the US, Bannon is basking in Trump's landslide victory on November 5. Fresh out of federal prison—where he served four months for contempt of Congress—Bannon isn’t exactly licking his wounds.
“The four months in federal prison not only didn’t break me, it empowered me,” he said.
