Trump blames Biden after ‘animal’ Haitian migrant kills Florida mom
WASHINGTON, DC: President Donald Trump on Thursday, April 9, blamed the Biden administration’s "massively abused and fraudulent" Temporary Protected Status (TPS) program for the brutal killing of a Florida mother.
He used the horrific incident to claim that the former administration’s policies turned the US into a "dumping ground" for dangerous individuals, asserting that the suspect was only in the country because of specific federal protections granted to Haitian nationals.
Trump blames Biden over migrant accused of killing Florida mother
In a post on 'Truth Social,' Trump linked the killing of a 51-year-old gas station employee to the immigration policies of his predecessor.
"An Illegal Alien Criminal from Haiti, who was released into our Country by the WORST President in History, Crooked Joe Biden, and the Radical Democrats in Congress, just beat an innocent woman to death with a hammer at a gas station in Florida," Trump wrote.
He took particular aim at the federal program that allowed the suspect to remain in the country, stating, "This animal was allowed to stay here because the Biden Administration granted him, and all Haitians, 'Temporary Protected Status,' a massively abused and fraudulent program which my Administration is working to terminate, but Deranged Liberal District Court Judges are standing in our way."
Trump shares video of brutal bludgeoning in Fort Myers
The victim, a mother of two and employee of a Chevron gas station in Fort Myers, was attacked in broad daylight on Friday, April 6.
Surveillance footage, which Trump shared uncensored, showed the accused, 40-year-old Rolbert Jaochin, smashing the windshield of an SUV before the victim approached him.
Jaochin then allegedly charged the woman and struck her in the face with a hammer, leaving her to die in a pool of blood on the sidewalk.
Trump described the clip as “one of the most vicious things you will ever see,” adding that he had an "obligation" to share it so the public could see the consequences of the former leadership.
Trump vows justice while slamming Biden's border policies
Trump framed the attack as a symptom of a larger national security failure, urging his followers to "NEVER FORGET that Joe Biden and the Democrat Party turned the United States of America into a dumping ground, allowing Tens of MILLIONS of Criminals, Lunatics, and the Mentally Insane from all over the World to pour into our Country, totally unvetted and unchecked through our wide Open Borders."
Jaochin, reportedly confessed to the murder and now faces charges of homicide and criminal mischief. According to a press release from the department of Homeland Security, "Joachin first entered the US in August 2022 and was released into the country under the Biden administration. A federal judge issued a final order of removal against him in 2022, but the Biden administration granted him Temporary Protected Status."
Trump concluded his post with a plea for the victim's family, saying, “Please say a prayer for this innocent woman’s family. We will ensure quick and severe JUSTICE is served in this case!”
