WASHINGTON, DC: President Donald Trump said the United States is negotiating with Iran from a "position of pure strength," claiming the country is eager to reach an agreement following recent military action.

Speaking during a White House Rose Garden dinner with American farmers on Thursday, June 25, Trump expressed confidence that a deal could soon be reached.

He argued that the United States now holds the upper hand in the negotiations and insisted Iran has already agreed it will not pursue a nuclear weapon.

While discussing negotiations, Trump also turned his attention to global oil shipments.

Although he did not address Iran's reported attack on a Singaporean cargo ship traveling through the Strait of Hormuz, he said the vital waterway remains open.

Yesterday they took out 19 million barrels of oil," Trump claimed.

"That's the most in the history of the strait."

He also argued that energy markets were responding positively.

"And the oil prices are dropping like a rock," Trump said.

According to the president, the movement of oil through the Strait of Hormuz reflects growing stability despite continued tensions in the region.

Trump claims Iran has accepted key condition

Trump also made a bold claim about the direction of the negotiations.

According to the president, Iran has already accepted one of the central conditions the United States has been seeking.

He asserted that Iran has "100 per cent" agreed that "they will not have a nuclear weapon" as part of any potential agreement to end the conflict.

Trump did not provide additional details about the negotiations or explain how close the two countries are to finalizing an agreement.

Instead, he maintained that the talks are progressing because the United States is negotiating from what he described as a position of overwhelming leverage.Throughout his remarks,

Trump projected confidence that a deal remains within reach, repeatedly insisting that Iran is eager to come to the negotiating table and that recent developments have strengthened America's hand.
