BUTLER, PENNSYLVANIA: Donald Trump made a rather bold during his recent Butler, Pennsylvania rally.

The 78-year-old Republican presidential nominee told the crowd that he was in better physical shape than former President Barack Obama, 63, and he threw George W Bush into the comparison too, just for good measure.

Speaking of his former White House physician, Texas Rep Dr Ronny Jackson, Trump declared, "He was the doctor for Obama, [George W.] Bush, and Trump. That's pretty good, right? The press said who is the healthiest of the three, he said definitely it's Donald Trump. There’s not even a contest."

Donald Trump mocked for claiming he is healthier than Barack Obama

It didn’t take long for Donald Trump’s critics to jump on social media platforms and give their two cents, and let’s just say they weren’t buying the former president's tall claims.

One wrote, "I find it hard to believe any reputable physician would do a comparison of 3 former presidents and say this out loud," and another said, "Now that’s a huge lie."

"No one said that," declared a person, while someone else remarked, Should be easy to release the medical records if that is the case. Waiting..."

In mid-August, Trump said he would "very gladly" release his medical records while speaking with CBS News. However, with only 28 days to the general election, he has yet to follow through on his promises.

"The man is a deranged psychopath who lives in another reality," fumed an individual. Another person wrote, "Me bestest. Me the goodest Me, me Flatter me and I'll be yours."

This wasn’t the first time Trump's fitness has been called into question. Back in June, the former president stirred controversy when he mixed up Dr Jackson's name. Ironically, the slip happened right after he criticized President Joe Biden, suggesting he should take a cognitive test much like Trump had done.

The Republican boasted, "I think he should take a cognitive test like I did. I took a cognitive test, and I aced it," only to immediately confuse the name of his former physician. "Doc Ronny — Doc Ronny Johnson," said Trump instead of Ronny Jackson.

Completely oblivious to his blunder, he continued to praise the test saying, "Does everyone know Ronny Johnson, congressman from Texas? He was the White House doctor, before boasting about how he got "every question right" on the cognitive test administered by Jackson in 2018.

Donald Trump has a loyal ally in Ronny Jackson

Despite the name mix-up, Ronny Jackson has remained a loyal supporter of Donald Trump, sticking by his side after the July 13 assassination attempt and during the 2024 Republican National Convention.

Jackson rode with Trump's motorcade on the night of the Butler rally incident and stuck by the president over the next few days, as per NBC News.

The Texas lawmaker's loyalty to the MAGA spearhead goes way back to his time as the former president's White House physician.

In 2018, Jackson made headlines for his glowing assessments of Trump’s health. "He has incredibly good genes, and it’s just the way God made him," said the physician, even adding that Trump could live to be 200 years old if he improved his diet.

While Jackson’s praise for Trump may be endless, his own career has been far from smooth. In 2018, Trump nominated him to lead the Department of Veterans Affairs, but Jackson later withdrew his name from consideration after misconduct allegations surfaced from his time as a White House physician for both Obama and Trump.

The accusations included doling out drugs improperly and even being drunk on the job. Jackson denied all the allegations, calling them "completely false and fabricated."

In 2021, the Defense Department inspector general released a report that found Jackson had engaged in "inappropriate conduct" during his time in the White House.

Once again, Jackson denied any wrongdoing, accusing Democrats of "using this report to repeat and rehash untrue attacks on my integrity" because "I have refused to turn my back on President Trump."

It's worth noting that Trump endorsed Jackson during his successful 2020 run for Congress.
