WASHINGTON, DC: President Donald Trump isn’t mincing words about what he sees as his biggest win since stepping into the Oval Office again.

In an interview with Fox Noticias on Tuesday, April 15, just shy of his first 100 days in power, he called the US-Mexico border situation “perfect", reports Fox News.

Donald Trump says border is 'perfect' as he ranks top win of first 100 days

“I think the thing that people now realize is the border is 100%. It's like literally 100%,” Donald Trump said when Fox News' Rachel Campos-Duffy asked him what he was most proud of since his return to the White House.

“It's perfect now, and I don't know if you can tell. Perfect. But it's going to get better. And by the way, we want people to come in, but they have to come in legally and everybody agrees to that," he added.

One of Trump's biggest campaign pledges was tightening up border security. And since he took office, the number of illegal border crossings has gradually gone down, per the outlet.

A fresh report from US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) shows a sharp drop in activity at the southern border—there were fewer arrests this past March than what was recorded in just the first two days of March 2024 during the Biden administration.

That’s the second consecutive month in which US Border Patrol averaged its lowest daily nationwide apprehensions in history, and Trump’s not shy about taking credit.

But immigration wasn’t the only thing on his mind. Trump also pointed to the administration’s aggressive trade policies as a highlight.

“We're making tremendous amounts of money taking in billions and billions, hundreds of billions of dollars in tariffs from other countries that for many, many decades just ripped off the United States. And it's time that we not allow that to happen,” he said, referencing his new tariff policy announced on 'Liberation Day' on April 2.

Trump further shared with Campos-Duffy that there were plenty of accomplishments that he was proud of, including progress on what he called the “Big, Beautiful Bill”—a package aimed at delivering tax cuts and cutting back on red tape.

Campos-Duffy took to X to share a behind-the-scenes moment from her sit-down with Trump at the White House.

“I had an extraordinary interview with @realDonaldTrump yesterday for @FoxNoticiasEnX,” she wrote. “He answered every question I had. I believe we broke important news on immigration & US election interference in Latin America through #USAID. Watch here at 4pm ET.”

Some users were unimpressed by the line of questioning, particularly regarding controversial topics.

“Did you ask him why he is defying an order from SCOTUS or why he is planning on sending American citizens to a foreign prison?” one user asked, while another wrote, “Why don't you ask him why Bondi and Kash aren't arresting any corrupt Democrats? If you aren't asking this question then your interview is worthless.”

“You are a walking conflict of interest. You shouldn’t be working for the media when your husband is a cabinet member. Idiot,” one user remarked, slamming Campos-Duffy who is married to Republican Sean Duffy.

However, supporters of both Campos-Duffy and Trump chimed in with praise. “Great job Rachel. It was a great interview," one wrote.

“Congratulations on your new show and landing a wonderful interview with President Trump," said another.

A few comments even critiqued how certain questions were framed, with one user saying, “You question on sending Americans to off shoe prison was ill informed and foolish. No value in such a baseless illogical question. Trump’s answer limited in scope is now a false talking point.”
