WASHINGTON, DC: President Donald Trump is once again making headlines for all the wrong reasons - this time for calling Navy football players "gentlebin" in a rambling, off-script White House address.

On Tuesday, April 16, Trump hosted the Midshipmen at the White House to celebrate their victory in the Commander-in-Chief’s Trophy series, where the Navy pulled off decisive wins against both the Air Force (34-7) and the Army (31-13).

But while honoring the team, Trump’s remarks took a confusing turn, as he seemed to ramble through his speech, leaving many scratching their heads.

Trump’s rambling remarks turn heads again

“A lot of times they’ll show me a ship or a plane, and I say, ‘That doesn’t look good.’ And they say, ‘Well, it’s stealth.’ I say, ‘I don’t care if it’s stealth or not,’” Trump said, adding, “We're going to change it, we have to.' I'm not sure I believe so much in this stealth thing.”

“But we want the most beautiful equipment, the best equipment,” Trump said. “That’s what we’re going to get and you're going to lead the way. And I'm going to help you too cause I like doing that stuff. And we're gonna get a lot of ships, a lot of planes, for all of the armed services.”

But it was the moment he gestured toward the athletes behind him and said, “the gentlebin behind me,” that sent the internet into a frenzy.

Trump’s awkward moment followed a light jab at JD Vance for mishandling the National Championship trophy during Ohio State’s recent trip to the White House. Then, in classic Trump fashion, he pulled a bizarre move to appear taller next to one of the Ohio State players something that didn’t go unnoticed.

A clip of Donald Trump mispronouncing the Navy football team's name as “Gentlebin” during a speech has gone viral, sparking waves of reaction online.

One user didn’t hold back, “He’s a disaster.” Another added, “The faces on the people behind him tell a story and a half.”

Some users took the moment as another example of Trump's speaking gaffes, with one commenting, “Bro’s mind has completely gone,” and another bluntly writing, “He’s just stupid!”

Others riffed on the military angle, with one quipping, “Trump wants ‘beautiful’ but ineffective aircraft,” while another pointed out, “Without some stealth his beautiful ships will be destroyed.”
