Trump dons custom white cowboy hat as he welcomes rodeo world champions to Oval Office
WASHINGTON, DC: President Donald Trump brought a bit of Western style to the Oval Office during a light moment caught on video. He briefly wore a custom white Resistol cowboy hat while meeting rodeo champions at the White House.
The visit took place on Friday, March 13, when the 2025 world champions from the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) and the Women’s Professional Rodeo Association (WPRA) came to Washington, DC. It was the first time champions from both rodeo groups visited the Oval Office together.
The event is part of Trump’s practice of welcoming champion athletes to the White House. Earlier, he hosted players from Inter Miami CF after their MLS Cup win. Soccer star Lionel Messi was also there.

For many years, championship teams have visited the White House after winning major titles. On Friday, that tradition continued when the rodeo champions were welcomed to the Oval Office, where Trump met athletes from both associations.
During the visit, the rodeo champions presented Trump with a special gift, a custom white Resistol 1776 cowboy hat. The hat was the first in a limited batch of 250 and featured a unique design.
In a video shared by White House communications adviser Margo Martin, someone in the room can be heard explaining the hat while handing it over: “Have your name put in there. This is number one of 250, got the constitution in the liner.”
“You guys are crazy!” @POTUS 🤣

Trump sounded surprised as he looked at the hat. “Is it in the liner? That’s amazing,” he said before trying it on. The room quickly filled with laughter and applause. Someone joked, “I think it’s your size,” as others laughed while the group got ready to take photos together.
The Republican leader told the riders he often watches rodeo events and joked about the risks involved. “I watch this all the time, you are totally crazy!” he said, before asking about the strength of the bulls used in competitions.
Stetson Wright and Kassie Mowry among rodeo champions who visited White House
Several rodeo athletes who won world titles were part of the group. The champions included Stetson Wright, who won the All Around Cowboy and Bull Riding titles. Others included Rocker Steiner (Bareback Riding) and Tucker Allen (Steer Wrestling).
Also honored were Andrew Ward (Team Roping Header), Jake Long (Team Roping Heeler), Statler Wright (Saddle Bronc Riding), and Riley Webb (Tie Down Roping). The group also included Kassie Mowry, the Barrel Racing champion, and Taylor Munsell, who won the Breakaway Roping title.
Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins welcomed the athletes and spoke about the visit. “Is this not an amazing day at the White House when we have the 2025 National Finals Rodeo world champions from Barrel Racing to Steer Wrestling, etc.”
