WASHINGTON, DC: Donald Trump has called the presidency a “dangerous business” while speaking about the two assassination attempts he faced in 2024.

The commander-in-chief recalled the incidents while reportedly celebrating a US Supreme Court verdict that restricts countrywide injunctions issued by federal courts.

On Friday, June 27, Trump told the media, “I get that throbbing feeling every once in a while. But you know what? That's okay. This is a dangerous business,” as reported by USA Today.

Trump says being a president is ‘dangerous’

“What I do is a dangerous business,” he added.

The 79-year-old leader also went on to compare other professions with the presidency.

He said, “You have race car drivers as an example, 1/10 of 1 per cent die. Bull riders, 1/10 of 1 per cent. That's not a lot, but it's - people die.”

The Supreme Court ruled 6-3 that individual judges cannot grant nationwide injunctions to block executive orders, including the injunction on President Trump’s effort to eliminate birthright citizenship in the U.S. The justices did not rule on Trump’s order to end birthright citizenship but stopped his order from taking effect for 30 days. “When you're president, it's about 5%. If somebody had told me that, maybe I wouldn't have run. Okay? This is, this is a very dangerous profession,” Trump asserted.

Trump faced two assassination attempts on the 2024 presidential campaign

The commander-in-chief was attacked first in Pennsylvania in July last year. At the time, a bullet grazed his ear during a campaign rally.

Then again in September last year, he was attacked while playing golf at his West Palm Beach resort.

While the July attacker was killed by Secret Service agents, the September perpetrator faces five federal charges and has pleaded not guilty.

This came after last month, Trump reportedly called out former FBI Director James Comey for his alleged concealed call for his assassination.

“He wasn't very competent. But he was competent enough to know what that meant. And, he did it for a reason,” the Republican leader told Fox News chief political anchor Bret Baier, referring to Comey’s now-deleted post featuring seashells arranged to form the numbers “86 47”.

Comey had captioned it, “Cool shell formation on my beach walk.”

But some took it as a coded message, saying “86” meant “get rid of,” and “47” was for Trump, resulting in him apologizing, “I didn't realize some folks associate those numbers with violence. It never occurred to me but I oppose violence of any kind so I took the post down.”

Trump, however, slammed him, adding, “He knew exactly what that meant. A child knows what that meant. If you're the FBI director, and you don't know what that meant – that meant assassination, and it says it loud and clear.”
