Todd and Julie Chrisley recall moment when they learned about Trump’s pardon: ‘It was the craziest thing’

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Todd and Julie Chrisley recently spoke about the moment they got to know about their pardons.
The pair got President Donald Trump’s pardon last month after being in jail for more than two years for their 2022 conviction of bank fraud and tax evasion.
They talked about it during an interview with Fox News host Lara Trump. The duo, along with their children Savannah and Grayson, sat down for ‘My View with Lara Trump’, which will air on Saturday, June 28.

‘The Chrisley Knows Best’ matriarch said during the sit-down, “I called Savannah one more time, and she said, 'He did it, he signed it.’”
“And I just started busting out crying. And everyone was looking around, and then I just hung up. I was so nervous, I just hung up,” she added, as per PEOPLE.
Julie further explained that it’s “the craziest thing, and everybody was just looking at me, because unfortunately, most of the news that you get in prison is bad news. So they're like, 'Are you okay?' I'm like, 'I am. I'm getting out of here. I'm getting out of here!”
Todd also revealed the moment he got the news.
Todd Chrisley was in disbelief over his pardon by Trump
He shared that a co-prisoner stopped him and went, 'Man, I think you just got pardoned.' And I said, 'Yeah, okay.’ And I said, 'Yeah, okay.' And I just kept on walking.”
“So when I went into my dorm, one of the guys, the COs, came by and he goes, 'Are you good?' And I said, 'As good as I can be.' And he said, 'Todd, you just got pardoned. They sent me down here to make sure you're okay. And I said, well, they don't need to be worrying about me now. Hell, if I'm pardoned, I'm great,” he revealed.
The 56-year-old media personality also noted that “we owe thanks to God. And I say - and God touched President Trump's heart.”

Todd and Julie were convicted in June 2022 after around a three-week trial. While the Chrisley patriarch received 12 years in federal prison, his wife was given seven years.
At the time, James Dorsey, special agent in charge of the IRS Criminal Investigation’s Atlanta Field Office, had reportedly said, “The Chrisleys defrauded financial institutions and the Federal Government through tax evasion and other fraudulent means in an effort to minimize their tax liability, but project an image of wealth.”
However, eventually their sentences were reduced.
