PALM BEACH, FLORIDA: President Donald Trump on Monday, February 16, praised first lady Melania Trump for what he described as her significant diplomatic engagement involving Russia and Ukraine, stating that she would ultimately be regarded as “one of the truly great first ladies.”

The comments were made during a press interaction aboard Air Force One, where Trump fielded a mix of policy and personal questions. Although the exchange began with a question about Valentine’s Day, the president shifted the focus to Melania Trump’s international work and professional accomplishments.

Trump hails Melania’s diplomatic role, movie success

Trump emphasized what he characterized as the seriousness and impact of his wife’s efforts related to Russia and Ukraine. Although he did not provide specific details about meetings, initiatives, or outcomes, he framed her involvement as meaningful and far-reaching.

“She does a very consequential work. I think you're going to see in the end that she's going to go down as one of the truly great first ladies. When you see what she's doing with Russia, Ukraine, and so many of the other things she's doing, she's done a good job. She works very hard.”

“She's very I'm proud of the fact, you know, her movie is so successful. It's a tremendous hit and uh she does a good job,” he said. He did not elaborate on the content or scope of the movie project but underscored his pride in its reported success.

Trump jokes about Valentine’s Day plans

The exchange began with a lighter moment when a reporter asked whether Trump had any special plans for Valentine’s Day or had given his wife flowers. The president appeared amused and declined to provide a direct answer. “I better not tell you that. Goodbye everybody. That's the toughest question.”
